  1. Saw Grosser play a little last summer very impressive wheels. Kelly and Connor were on the same team and they looked like varsity players. With Pabst and kelly they should be solid behind the plate. Connor can pick it, they should be decent.
  2. These guys couldn't beat an 8th grade team!!!(jk):thumb: Nutini is better than a few on the CovCath roster other than that, you're dreaming! Pat Vansant can play the football and can't wait to see him on the baseball field but can he dribble???haha Have a good time guys!
  3. That's amazing! Who's going to the line? Certainly not Lipscomb, Connor, Meyer. I haven't seen any NCC stats in the paper but you'd think those guys would be up there????
  4. Boone's guards IMO are better. Gabbard can defend well and stop Shover. Boone's size will give CovCath fits but the youth of Boone may be the factor if CovCath wins. I'll go with CovCath by 5. (this year)haha
  5. NCC won earlier this year without the 2 starters that were playing football. HC plays a tougher schedule. I'll take NCC becuase of the big kid Geisler! How about you?
  6. I think you have to go with NCC but HC is a tough team and very capable of beating anyone!!!!
  7. 9th darkhorse?????? after top picks of Holmes, Highlands, CovCath I think you go with Boone Co., Newport Central Catholic or Holy Cross!!!
  8. don't count out Faris at Boone Cty. and Maile at CovCath both are capable if they have good supporting teamates that can get on base so these 2 get opportunities to swing a bat!!!! Hopefully Faris plays outfield and with pitching not being a strong point at BC he'll get opportunities to make big plays and he can run!!!!
  9. I agree Hoops111 I've seen all 3 play Gallatin is a decent team but I don't think they can hang with HC or NCC. They did do a great job with Holmes and I'm not disrespecting them by all means. Just my opinion!
  10. The hardest thing for a young coach is learning how to get the most out their players without cutting them up and leaving the negative in a players head. Build them up break them down and finish with the positive. Watch a big man respond better to being challenged to crash the boards and come out with the ball. A good shooter will come to life if encouraged to keep shooting as opposed to being told to back off. Ball handlers will make mistakes but when coach puts more pressure on him as opposed to getting on the big man for not setting the pick to get the wing man open the ball handler in most cases tries to do more and makes more mistakes! Defenders need to be challanged to defend. Most athletes in general respond well to being challenged!
  11. My apologies!!! I do like the Meyer kid though! Sewell, a soph yeah that is sick he's tough.:thumb:
  12. This is probably a new thread if so my apologies but Renda is with the Ky Kings league team? I heard that they had so many at tryouts they elected to field 2 18U teams is that correct?
  13. Let's keep things in perspective here. Meyer is a nice payer and I stated in another thread IMO he's one of the better soph in NKY. To say he was the best player on the court vs. Trinity is way out there in left field!!! Lipscomb took over!!! Chamblis and Sewell from Trinity are flat out tough. There were 10 guys busting the back sides on the court and when Meyer was in was one of them and hit the buzzer beater and played well but come on!
  14. Brake might have the sweetest swing in NKY. Maile and Faris can both mash but Brake has a nice stroke. As for the others they've got to prove themselves yet don't they?
  15. Meyer is usually the 1st guy off the bench for NCC has nice handles, smart and ok shot. Both are very talented.
  16. IMO Gabbard is without question the best all around basketball player in the soph class. He knows the game and does everything well and understands his job. Others that deserve a mention are Meyer, Pangallo/NCC Collins/Newport Isn't Bryan from Villa a Jr as well as Helmer and Ahern from Ryle all nice players!!!
  17. Doesn't NCC have a group of jr.'s that are pretty tough? I heard that if they were very capable of taking the varsity spots last year but for whatever reason stayed with the JV??
  18. Beechwood has to be the sleeper but NCC should come out on top they've just got to many weapons that can score!!!
