Per the All "A" Brackets. Let's discuss teams, match-ups and what it takes to win the 9th Region.

The parochial schools ( H.C., NewCath and St Henry) have controlled things in the 9th region for more years then I can remember and I don't see that changing this year. The public school sleepers would be Newport and Beechwood.

Bad draw for the teams in the upper bracket. The lower side is much weaker. I see NCC and St. Henry in the finals with NCC winning.

I think NewCath is a clear favorite, partly because St. Henry and Holy Cross aren't as good as a year ago. NewCath isn't a good as last year either, but they are close, the other two are not.

 

That said, I think Holy Cross is the one team that could knock NCC off. I doubt they will, but I think they at least have a chance.

Holy Cross has a tough first round game against Beechwood. Beechwood may suprise some people this year, should be a great first round game. Also look for a good game between NCC and Newport, Newport has alot of talent and if they all play together they can upset the breds.

Wow sucks to be in that upper bracket.

Wow, if Bellevue were to make it to the finals they should just hand them the trophy. That upper bracket matchup between NCC/Newport will be a battle and then I think it will be the winner vs Beechwood who could shock a lot of folks and win this thing.

I don't know alot about high school basketball however, so far this season I think Ludlow and Beechwood along with Newport can surprise some people and pull this off. The upper bracket is going to be tough for any team. Good luck to all school's. JD

Sandman appears high on Holy Cross, not giving Beechwood much respect during the 1st round, Does Sandman know something we don't about either team?

Don't count-out Beechwood.

NCC should get tested by Beechwood, the winner will come out of that top bracket!

Isn't Lloyd eligible for the All "A" anymore. How many kids are they over.

I have to go with NCC on the top half with a slight edge over Beechwood. Looks like St. Henry over Villa in the bottom half.
