WebGems37 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Didnt see a thread yet on this, the game is tonight. Just wondering what everyone thinks, Im a rebel at heart but I think Cov Cath will take this one but it will be a learning point for the young rebels and hopefully they return the favor in February.
cshs81 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 From the little I've seen of Boone, they shoot well and have a true (the only one in NKY?) post player who can score and rebound in double figures on a nightly basis. Add in McFarland who can play all 5 positions and you've got dangerous opponent. The question on Boone's side is can the youngsters (and there are many SOPHS that play) handle the atmosphere tonight in Park Hills. CCH is struggling offensively and needs to get into a better flow. I look forward to this game.
happymeal Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Boone's guards IMO are better. Gabbard can defend well and stop Shover. Boone's size will give CovCath fits but the youth of Boone may be the factor if CovCath wins. I'll go with CovCath by 5. (this year)haha
CCH24 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 JD Schmerge has been forecasting rain tonight. . . bring your umbrellas. . .

I'm not sure if/how much Popp will play coming back from his injury. I also wonder if McFarland is 100% yet. All three are among the leaders in N.KY in steals. Should be a good game. I think Boone Co. can win, but I think Cov Cath should probably be favored by 6 because of home court advantage. Boone Co. needs to bring its fans and students and show their support!
spillywilly Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Boone has alot of speed and really get after it on defense but I just think Cov Cath is little more experienced in the big game sitiuation and them being at home I would give them the advantage. Cov Cath 62 Boone Co. 55
Flotsam Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Colonels may be a bit flat after an emotional last second packed house loss in Park Hills against their everything rival Highlands and 4 days before a huge district game (tournament seeding on the line) on the road against their #1 basketball rival Holmes...look for a Boone County upset.
