Ncc 26- HHS 21 at the half. Ncc in a bit more foul trouble than HHS. Fouls 9-6. Very physical game. Lots of overly hard fouls by ncc

Interesting how Boone and Ryles coaches are here scouting. And this is not even a district final. Seeding should be a state law

I have no problem if he said it amazing for his kids, but he said to get us back like it was all him. Just say the kids did an amazing job tonight, Im very proud of them. Good coaches give all the credit to the kids when things go well. I have a real problem with the other part of the comment.......This feels pretty amazing to finally get us back to the region, but I told the girls not to be satisfied," Bellevue coach Tommy Sorrell said. The part of not to be satisfied is that a joke, what do you want them to do now. Be happy your kids get to play in the region dont put a target for them to get beat by a lot on their back with that comment. That is rubbing it in it seems to me on NCC and HHS, were in the region and one of you will not. It would not be a surprise to me to see this district final score get way out of hand.

I heard Cutter was in a boot for the Scott game and didnt play. I was at the SK game and she was in a boot and didnt play. Abner did take a shot in the SK game and didnt return, I can say it didnt look good. Hate to hear that it wont be a battle, looks like the All A State Champs will win easy.

Hopefully someone will send game film to the KHSAA and Nell will finally be called out for her disgraceful behavior

My bet is Boone cancels it because of weather. Highlands is on a roll and Boone would rather play the 'birds later in the season if the opportunity presents itself.

I have heard that she has a conflict with the coach and some fellow Raiders. I also heard from a very reliable source that she plans on sitting out this year and trying to play for Boone next year.

Is Highlands really that good, or is Iroquois over-rated? Anyone see this scrimmage?

I heard the same thing about Moss. and as far as the Cheesman girl goes: 1. They did not move. 2. She is attending Ryle 3. Her eligibility with the KHSAA is not an issue because she is just now a freshmen and the fact that she played varsity as an 8th grader last year for WV does not mean squat under the current rules. The only question was would she be accepted as a Ryle student because she was living out of district. Apparently that problem has been circumvented. However, if Moss is gone, that will take them out of the top 3 in the region in my opinion.

I heard that Coach Bev Smith reisgned from both teaching and coaching at Bellevue. Can anyone confirm this??

Congratulations to Williamstown, Coach Wilhoit, and all of the Lady Demons for being selected as the pre season favorite to win the 8th Region All "A" Tournament, and a special congratulations to Stith on being selected as the number one player.

I am sure that the post just meant that some of the girls are not yet in High School and therefor do not know where they are going. Quit being such a consipiracy theorist.

What a joke. These young ladies play their tails off representing Kentucky at a National Championship and WIN, and all you can do is complain that it was not at a high enough level. That is unbelievable to me. Congratulations Lady Vikings. I am glad that you represented our state well. :dancingpa

I know the Class "A" Schools don't get much respect in the 8th, and frankly they need to earn it. But I would not be suprised if Gallatin, Carroll, W-V, and Williamstown all make some noise this year and down the road.

I heard that the liver transplant took 9 hours, but that she has some problems relating to her kidneys and swelling on her brain. The doctors are hopeful these things will correct themselves over time now that the new liver is in place. Only time will tell. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

I heard a rumor today that Kentucky Basketball Legend Donna Murphy is gravely ill. If anyone can confirm or dispell this rumor, please do so. For those of you who do not know Donna is the only person to ever win Miss Kentucky Basketball two times. She did this as a player at Newport High School and is considered a pioneer in the women's game. More recently Donna has been the head coach at Asbury College and LCA.

My deepest sympathy for their loss.

Oh, it would definitely effect W-V. The player is a quality player and would probably start at the point for WV, possibly even Ryle. Even though she is young, so are a lot of the Lady Bearcats. A big question WV is trying to answer this summer is who will play the point. So far I think there are a few options. Carla Howe, Senior with little experience, Tori Lay, Sophomore, less experience, Jenna Lee Ginn, Freshmen, better at the 2, Molly Clinkenbeard, 8th Grader, Better at the two. Shelby Mulliken, 7th grader. will be very good, but she is only a 7th grader. In this mix Cheeseman is probably the best option at the point if she were to return. But there are many questions. Will she return? How would she be accepted by the teammates she left for the summer? and how will her parents respond to the new coaching staff? It will indeed be interesting to see how this plays out. My money is still on her being at Ryle. Probably the best solution for everyone.

Do you really think her parents would not have checked this out before they burned their bridges at WV. She is already playing with Ryle this summer. I am sure they have either been accepted as tuition student or are accepted because he is an employee of the school (even though as a paraprofessional). But back to the thread topic. WV's post players are looking very very good this summer.

Most schools accept tuition students, so it is not an issue. The KHSAA does not care where she lives as long as she is enrolled in the school. She is an incoming freshmen so the question of eligibility is not an issue. Her playing at Ryle is only a question of if Ryle will let her enroll in their school. I do not see why any school would turn down a good student who is willing to pay to come to their school unless they are overcrowded. With the addition of Cooper High School, Ryle is no longer overcrowded and may be accepting out of district tuition students.

As I said before I wish the player all of the best of luck she has an uphill battle switiching schools along with the rest. Hopefully things go well for her and they continue to be pleased with his coaching. Maybe it will be easier with him coaching her from the bench instead of trying to do it from the stands.
