I don't agree; I see Pike Central vs. Paintsville in the final.

So ... BGP apparently only has 1 Pike Central fan. Because the Belfry people are avoiding this thread like hunters run from skunks. :lol:

Forced resignation seems a little harsh for what happened last week, though.

I was very surprised when I looked at the Massey Ratings for the 15th Region just now and saw that Pikeville has the No. 1 defense --- the top D in terms of points allowed, anyway. Of course, the 2 and 3 teams were Valley and East Ridge, so that may be the David School factor; however, the 60th District schools aren't getting a similar boost from Piarist.

Not until Commonwealth installs Fieldturf.

Because Magoffin has sidestepped the three top pitchers in the region -- Cortney Bentley (Shelby Valley), Natalie Gooch (Pikeville) and Jodi Yates (East Ridge).

One of these years, the 15th Region will get a favorable draw at state. But Male, Eastern, J'town or Fern Creek isn't it. Whoever wins the 15th (Pike Central, Belfry, Paintsville and Johnson Central appear to be the favorites) probably shouldn't make a long-term hotel reservation in Lexington.

If it were, the Magoffin County girls would be in real trouble. :lol:

Don't forget East Ridge. Too bad only two of those teams will make it to region.

No, you're the one who just doesn't get it. 32 minutes of stall ball would be even more embarassing to the David School than what actually occurred. What should have happened? Ned Pillersdorf, David's coach, should have called the thing off at halftime. And the people at the David School shouldn't have listened when a certain official brought them a proposal while the whole realignment fight was going on in 2004. To answer your question above, here's is the David School's mission statement as shown on its website: I'm not saying they should not be a member of the KHSAA and admire what they're doing with those students. I do, however, question the wisdom of entering district play with what amounts to a second-year program in its first year of KHSAA membership.

Sounds like you're blaming the players. Why do so? They're not calling their own plays, after all.

This was, in fact, the Panthers' first-ever win over the Warriors. Sentiments of "Hail Pikeville" are indeed merited, especially since the basketball season to date has not been especially kind to anybody who plays home games at T.W. Oliver Memorial Gymnasium, no matter their gender. I already heard from Rick Bentley, who was at the game. The Panthers were 15 of 23 at the free throw line .... oh, did I mention that those numbers happened in the final 2:23 alone? Pikeville was 23 for 32 .. oh, wait. That was just Pikeville's free-throw shooting in the fourth quarter. They were 27-for-42 in the game. It was actually good game planning by Denny Paul May and the East Ridge staff -- Pikeville (barely) has hit 50 percent from the line this year.

Dead wrong. The 59th District is no longer a 3-team district. With the realignment, it's now David, East Ridge, Pikeville and Shelby Valley.

Really? Did Pikeville or East Ridge drop boys' basketball? Obviously Valley didn't.

Magoffin won't be a threat unless its pitching improves to the Pikeville/Shelby Valley/Johnson Central/East Ridge/Belfry level.
