217/6=36.167 So each class would have either 36 or 37 schools. If you have 32 playoff teams in each class, then only three or four teams miss the playoffs. Then it's no better than Indiana's system, in which making the postseason is considered a right rather than a reward for hard work.

The web site is controlled by the business side of the paper, not news side. I have no control over it at all and have no say in what's placed in the poll segment. I don't even have access to it to place breaking news on the site. By the time I got to the office at 4 p.m. Friday, the poll in question had long since been removed. We agree: the wrong decision was made in placing that poll on the web site. On behalf of the Appalachian News-Express, I apologize to anyone who may have been offended by that decision.

If they're unable to field a both a fastpitch and slowpitch team for whatever reason (including this one), they should drop the slowpitch program because there's no future in it.

I was wondering that myself. I would have preferred they restencil the old lettering, which is much nicer.

Those aren't press boxes. :lol: Belfry's stadium is far and away the best east of the UK campus.

Pikeville and Belfry (now) both have great fields -- probably the best in terms of drainage, footing and looks.
