  1. Not sure where you got #12 but I can tell you he was not involved with any late hits.
  2. I would agree 100%. The crew was from Louisville and they were not very good. Bad calls all the way around. Honestly, they had a difficult time even spotting the ball in the right spot at times.
  3. QB keeper between left guard and tackle. I'm not sure he got touched. He is a talented player.
  4. I think most people agreed that the Newport/Walton-Verona game was probably going to be one of the best games in Northern Kentucky last night if not the state and it certainly turned out that way. Two competitive teams that were pretty evenly matched. So.... I buy an Enquirer this morning to check out the local football coverage from last night and what do I find, nice articles on Ryle/Dixie, NCC/Lloyd and Highlands/Ashland. With all do respect to those teams, how does the Newport/WV game get ZERO coverage. For those folks in N. KY is there article or write up online somewhere that I'm missing?
  5. I thought the "We want New Cath" cheer by the Newport cheering section tonight at the end of regulation was rather interesting. I guess they will get their chance. Should be a good rematch between New Cath and Newport. Congratulations to the senior class from WV. They all have contributed to building a respectable football program at WV.
  6. Tremendous game to watch! Both teams made some huge plays throughout this game. Congratulations to Newport. Great year for Coach Barth and the Bearcats.
  7. Congratulations to the Green Dragons!
  8. Trimble's coach acted the same way during and after the game against Walton-Verona.
  9. I think WV pulls this game out against a very good Newport team. I will have to respectfully disagree that Newport has more talent. They certainly have some talented players but Latimore, Carr and Compton from WV are also very talented players. Having Latimore for the full game this time around vs Newport will certainly help WV. They gave up a kickoff return for a TD to start the game vs Newport in the first matchup as well as a bad snap over the punter that lead directly to another Newport score. I see WV eliminating those mistakes and taking a hard fought battle vs Newport. It should be a fun night in Verona next Friday.
  10. Congrats to WV. Should be a great game next Friday night vs. Newport!
  11. Congratulations to a fine young lady and one heck of a softball player!
  12. I would agree 100%. Coach Barth and his staff continues to do an excellent job. Challenging for a state title is everyone's goal but the playoffs should be one step at a time. Let's get by Holy Cross and then focus on the next opponent.
  13. Great night for the Bearcats! LCA jumped out to a 14-0 lead at the end of the first and then WV took over.
  14. If we are going to talk in facts.... Let's make sure you remember that WV beat Grant last year without two starters as well as having their starting point guard wearing a mask because of a broken nose....just saying.
  15. Congrats to the Bearcats!
  16. That's correct. 35-0 at the end of the first and 42-0 at the half.
  17. Excellent game for the Bearcats with an especially strong first half. The weather got a little interesting in Owenton. :isurrender:
  18. Nice win for the Bearcats! Latimore on offense and Cody Catlett on defense were two of the standout performers for the Bearcats.
  19. Latimore with a 35 yd run for WV. WV 26-6 at the half.
  20. 46 yd TD pass to Schneider for Grant. 13-6 WV. 2:22 left in first.
  21. WV kicks off the Grant. Fumble on the kickoff. Catlett for WV recovers and returns for a TD. WV up 13-0.
  22. Grant received the kickoff. After a 2 first downs are forced to punt. WV scores on the third play from scrimmage. Kline pass to Latimore for about a 70 yd. TD
  23. IMO....Newport will not beat Williamsburg.
  24. Congratulations to Anderson County! They have a very very balanced team - speed, good pitching, good defense and power. I want to give a shout out to the young ladies from Walton-Verona as well as Coach Marlin Gregg. You had an excellent season and certainly have nothing to be ashamed of. Johnny Anderson developed a winning program at W-V and left the program in good shape. Coach Gregg did a great job picking up where Coach Anderson left off while working with a relatively young group. He convinced the girls to buy into what he was teaching and how he wants to run a program. The biggest part of the buy in came from W-V's two seniors: Hannah Thacker and Julann Ginn. IMO, these two were instrumental with leading the buy-in with the new coach. These two have had excellent careers at W-V. Congratulations to both of the Bearcats, Walton-Verona and Anderson County.
