  1. :deadhorse:Maybe try mixing it up a little bit...you're getting awful predictive.
  2. Does anyone know of any good social studies teachers who can also coach basketball?
  3. I wouldn't expect anything less from you. I'm guessing at some point you've attended or tried out for some WV function and been cut --- hang in there, it will be okay. Otherwise, I can't understand your bitterness for these kids.
  4. You my friend do not have a clue. By the way...you should have paid more attention during junior high English class...just saying.
  5. If you consider being able to post on BGP as "fame" then you really need to get out more.
  6. I'm not sure I'm following what you are saying but I would totally agree about Coach Clink. There was certainly talented players when he took over the girls program. As far as wa wa and one4one....i'm sure if there were more pictures on this thread I'm sure it would make things easier for you two to understand but since there isn't...just move on.:sssh:
  7. What I get personal about is when people get on here and make accusations and/or statements about a program that they no nothing about. You have made references in previous posts about the parents running the program and about the administration giving in to the parents....and that is just simple incorrect. Trame resigned....he wasn't fired - plan and simple. What the program needs is a coach that understands what it takes to have some success at a small school. They need someone who understands the importance of developing players starting in the lower grades, have quality coaches throughout your system and someone that can coach the game at the high school level. Those are all things that Clinkenbeard can do. Have some conversations with Mark and I think you'll see that these are things that he cares about with a program. I'm certainly not saying that Clinkenbeard is the only answer....but at this point a decision needs to be made and he would be the most logical choice. I don't believe that I've read any posts from anyone, nor myself, that is from Walton that has mentioned anything about contending for a regional title so I'm not sure where that statement comes from. How about being competitive -- I would take that. Trame obviously was an excellent coach...but he cared nothing about what went on at the middle school or grade school level --- and those were his words, not mine. When Trame took over the program he didn't exactly inherit an empty cupboard. He had some nice players sprinkled throughout the system and he had quality coaches at the middle school level. Now.....that is not the case. Yes, I do blame Trame for the Moeves leaving, as well as for Burns, the McCubbins and the McNeils leaving. He was exactly the reason why they left. If the Moeves leave for greener pastures, then that will have been 9 kids that have left the program. In a small school it's hard to fill that void.
  8. It's pretty obvious to me that you didn't do your homework. Trame is apparently a very good person....there is no disputing that. However, if you think that the boy's basketball program is in good shape....then you obviously do not pay attention. If you think what the administration is going through right now is the "easy solution"...then again you're misguided or misinformed.
  9. No disrespect but you are completely wrong. Coach Clinkenbeard is exactly what this team needs.
  10. Excellent thread so far! I think a lot of coaches miss the boat when it comes to forcing players to beat you with their weak hand.
  11. That's pretty funny....you sound like a little kid.
  12. Do you have the stats or have they been published somewhere? I'm curious as to what WV shot from the field. I'm guessing they shot less than 30% for the game and when that happens....its virtually a guarantee that you are going to get out rebounded.
  13. He should have put him on the pine.
  14. I don't know that I would subscribe to the theory of sitting your two best players on the bench.
  15. Congratulations to GC, Coach West and Coach Wright. Outstanding job over the past 3 years or so by this years senior class at WV. What it boils down to -- you have to make shots. If you don't make shots and also miss key free throws.....you're not going to win to many games. I'm not sure what WV shot for the game, but they were below 20% from the field in the first half. Certainly a tough loss for WV but good luck to Coach West and his team against SK and in the 8th Region tournament.
  16. I would agree with you. It's very hard for the pre-season favorite to win coach of the year. Last year, Walton-Verona won the Class A Region, Class A State and won the 8th Region but Mark Clinkenbeard did not win the coach of the year. I would say that he should have won coach of the year however, some would say the they just met expectations.
  17. I would disagree that Walton was considered the favorite this year. I believe Anderson had more starters returning than any team that was ranked in the top three at the beginning of the season. Anderson had a great season...but to get the award he would have needed to exceed expectations...not just meet them. Congrats to Coach Howell and her coaching staff for an excellent season.
  18. Very much deserved! Congrats also to all the young ladies that were selected!
  19. I was just curious to hear what Yo Mama had to say about WV's karma. As far as Ryle, don't over look them for what?
  20. Please enlighten us on what you mean by karma? I will be anxiously awaiting your thoughts.
  21. I look for it to be a challenging but yet interesting year for the Bearcats. As Sarge mentioned.....they lost a lot on both lines. They will certainly need some young guys to step up. The QB position will also be interesting with losing their starting QB from last season. I believe they have also ramped up their schedule a little for this fall as well. With all these things combined.....it may be a challenge for Coach Barth and the staff for this season. The pipeline does seem to be getting better so hopefully they will be able to try and keep building on last years success.
