  1. Hope you don't choke on that pride. What region you gonna switch to when SC dispatches Corbin?
  2. Am I the only one who finds it ironic that we can't get through a decent basketball thread without a GRC mention? Maybe it's me. Congrats to Male, and Trinity on a fine season. Brutal region. I sometimes wonder if they're not simply beat up once the champ gets to Rupp.
  3. Don't delay, I just got off ebay and they had up for auction a sense of humor about to expire in 2 hours. Hurry!!!
  4. Maybe I wasn't clear. I have been told that there are those in the community who will do what they can to prevent him from reacquiring the position.
  5. Unless I misunderstand the hearsay, the powers that be in the community aren't too tickled with Coach Fraley and will demand that he be kept off the sidelines next year. Of course, it's only rumor.
  6. Neither Stenzel nor Zollo will win because they will take stats from one another due to the fact that they share the limelight. And for the record Ballard wasn't number one, Trinity was. But Ballard is solid no doubt. I understand saying they were #1 helps your argument however. And I think Knipp will put up such gawdy numbers he'll be difficult to overlook. My guess is that Behanan will be the favorite to win simply because he's headed to the Big East. I'd be highly surprised to see any of the others play at that level.
  7. I absolutely agree. But Russell is a football school. You see the uproar that tampering with the jfl football leagues brought about. People lost their minds. You go changing the basketball feeder and many may not even notice.
  8. Hold on sister, this ain't Greenup.
  9. I was in attendance last night. In any game you can expect some calls to be missed. The striped shirts are human. Honestly, I thought it was fairly officiated. I didn't think that there was a bad whistle one way and not the other. And in a game of this magnitude, I think that a fair whistle is all you can ask. On another note, the only call that was never made, and hasn't been from what I've seen all season, is on Hampton. He consistently lowers his shoulder, defender in good position and he bulls his way into the lane, makes space for the shot. It's plainly an offensive foul, however, it's never called. Kudos to the Musketeers for continuing to exploit the lack of this being called. The results speak for themselves.
  10. I've seen JC twice this season and have come away with the same thoughts after the game. Totally out of control at points. I have no idea about their coach and this isn't meant to be a slight on him, but he appears to be barely older than his players (perhaps I'm mistaken) and he commands little respect with little discipline. The 2 big kids are out of control, one received a technical foul last night then proceeded to jaw with the Ashland fans behind the bench and then was guarded by 2 assistants as he cooled off in the last chair. Personally, I think they are pretty talented, but there are some issues that if they don't overcome, they are going to underachieve tremendously. The guard (#5) is very physical and can get to the rim. I know it's early, but there are opportunities for JC to be a very solid squad. Just my 2 cents.
  11. Clay Euton?:idunno:
  12. Congratulations to the East Carter Lady Raiders!! Perhaps the Rowan County girls 16th region run has seen it's last days.:dancingpa
  13. Gosh, or Louisville? Wow, that would be le box de Pandora now wouldn't it?
  14. Sounds like you have an axe to grind here? How far do you want it to go? Heck let's get the Superintendent of Fayette County schools.
  15. Perhaps they're all at home watching Days of our Lives. It doesn't end until 2:00 you know. Look, here's my take on this saga. Folks, for the most part, in that area are in only a few categories. 1. Those who will get off their fannies to help, albeit, so their kids who are participating can enjoy their time there. (nothing at all wrong with that) 2. Those that will point fingers at those in #1 claiming they're only in it for their kids, when in fact all the kids benefit. 3. Those that think things in GC won't ever change and nothing they do will be a benefit, so they chose to sit at home. 3(a) Those in the category above who do so quietly 3(b) Those in the category above who do so while griping and blaming everyone else. 4. Those who believe in a state of continual paranoia that someone is trying to get something over on the school, or that someone is pulling the strings from Jordan Ice, Applegates, SS Annalou, or the Brickyard.(get my drift) Just my two cents, I may be absolutely wrong, which would lead to category 5. Those who are clueless.
  16. They're on here posting their displeasures, obviously.
  17. Had a chance to see this game and was curious as to why at the end of the half Ashland used a TO after second down when it appeared that Ironton was willing to let the remaining 30-35 seconds to expire. When the sweep on third down didn't work. Ironton used a TO made Ashland punt and almost broke the return and almost scored on a long pass attempt just before halftime. I know almost isn't a score, but if you were there you know how close it was. Another question I have for the TO coach is how many did Ashland save for the Russell game? They had two possessions with under 8 minutes remaining and didn't call a timeout. Maybe someone could help.
  18. They need to be patient. Grades 8-10 have some players.
  19. Well, I've popped my popcorn, here we go!
  20. Sounds like someone really dropped the ball if that's the case. My guess is that it's not just an omission mistake by the KHSAA.
  21. Well, unless there are more than one guy with that name. I read in the obit. columns where he was the minister of a friends funeral. So, perhaps it's not the same guy. Like I said, I may be wrong. Perhaps someone closer to the Russell program could confirm or deny that.
  22. I may be mistaken, but I think he is a minister/pastor somewhere in the community. I could be wrong.
