Youngman to Thomas Nelson
He took a bunch of kids that underachieved their entire careers and took them to the regional tournament and had them playing fairly well at the end of the year. From a basketball standpoint, I think it's hard to say he couldn't coach. However, the administration at GC surely checked the work history and saw his "nomadic" approach. He has a middle school son who can play varsity sports in our state. I'm not sure what the administration at GC was looking at then. And if you're correct, and the THNS admin never contacted GCHS either, well, that's just poor business in my opinion .

Mason County/Montgomery County Predictions
Is this the last game on the sideline for O'Hearn? Rumors amongst the officiating ranks is that he's hanging it up. I'm not pot stirring, just asking.

Rowan vs Ashland Predictions
With regards to your first post, I suppose I didn't read it that closely. I thought Rex had a job in Ohio. Is it okay with them that he was on the sideline at his old stomping grounds in KY as well? No conflict of interest or stipulations that he violated in Ohio? I wondered that when I saw the game in Morehead.

Rowan vs Ashland Predictions
I just hope Rowan repeats. I think Thacker is a fine coach. I think Wing vs. Gregg will be a good matchup. I think Wing brings that toughness that keeps Rowan on top at the end.

Rowan County 62 George Rogers Clark 58
Yes. We are talking about rules. He got a technical foul, he's supposed to be parked. If you want to be fair because you are the champion of fair and balanced here in this thread, both should have been dinged with another technical foul for disobeying a warning. Then Humphrey is sitting, and Thacker is in the locker room listening to the crowd trying to find the radio station.

I was simply saying you're not comparing apples to apples. It doesn't matter. You would argue that the sun isn't really a hot ball of gas. He got a T, should have been on the bench sitting. It's cut and dried. Not sure why there's a break in the synapse there.

You would be incorrect. Once a coach has received a technical, he is to be seatbelted and if he stands to coach or walk the sideline he's to receive an additional technical foul and be ejected from the contest. Being outside the box requires a warning. Totally different applications.

Surprising start for the Russell Red Devils
Forgive me for not buying that stuff. You said last year that the 16th was extremely weak and then a 16th region team was one shot from winning the whole shooting match.

Tug Valley WV 74 Ashland Blazer 57
I watched this one. 2 players from Tug Valley are the real deal. Ashland was totally outmanned and never in this game. And it was 8 fouls on TV to none for Ashland until well into the second quarter. Didn't matter.

Surprising start for the Russell Red Devils
I've heard alot of good things and alot of negative things about the program this year. I think it's clear that they will live and die with how Skaggs can get good shots. They truly have no other serious scoring options but need everyone to pitch in their share. They miss Davidson cleaning up the glass and Hunt could create his own shot and teams needs defensive help to guard him which gave Skaggs room. Like everyone else it no doubt will be a season of what could have been. I wouldn't overvalue Russell, but I think in this region they have a shot.

How many yards does J.J.Jude get against the Ashland Tomcats this Friday night?
Which makes the radio guy no better than Matney who he tried to roast all night.

Belfry 7 Ashland 6
I was going to refrain from posting this but I can't. How long will Ashland let their bonehead radio guy continue to defame the entire Ashland area with his on air junk? First, he must have said, along with his partner, that Ashland got no calls, everytime they had something going that they were whistled and that the officials simply wouldn't let them win this game. Then, with less than 4 to play, he says that Ashland has only 4 penalties for the game! Just a moron. He whined that Belfry's HOF coach somehow had a hand in every decision and-or flag that was thrown. Griped twice that Ashland players were horse-collared as they headed for the sideline but no call. Please, learn the rules before opening your mouth to insert your foot. And to be quite honest, I don't understand how Ashland fans aren't embarassed by his antics. There's no patting the opponent on the back when they just whipped your butt. Always excuses. Here, you want a solution to all of Ashand's woes last night? Get a placekicker.

Fairview vs. Grove City Christian (OH) Predictions
I saw this on another site and I thought it was interesting. *sigh*...there you go again commenting about Fairview's schedule...maybe this will help enlighten you... Here are the facts: * Fairview is 16-2 in their last 18 games including a 27 point win over Raceland. Raceland is 9-9. * Raceland doesn't get any playoff points or certificates of achievement for losing to Ashland by 37 last season, losing to Greenup by 26 last season, losing to Ashland again by 46 this year, and losing to Sciotoville Community by 22. * Raceland's schedule that supposedly prepares them for the postseason did not work last year when they lost to LCA by 40 points in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Even with Fairview's supposedly weak schedule, they still went to LCA and only lost by 11 in the 3rd round of the playoffs. * Since strength of schedule is so important to Ram fans, the remainder of Fairview's schedule is stronger than Raceland's schedule. They play the same 2 district foes, but Fairview closes the season with the 8th ranked team in 3A, undefeated Powell County, while Raceland closes the season with Russell, the 14th ranked team in 3A. * Fairview is currently the 4th ranked team in class A, getting 1 first place vote in the latest AP poll.

Ashland/Boyd County Predictions
I think the only hope Boyd has in this one is if it plays out like the Russell contest where Russell turned it over 5 times. Even then, it should be an easy win for Ashland. Hoping it's a spirited, but injury-free contest.

Russell 2011/2012
Graduation didn't hurt them too bad. They'll miss the Boyd kid from behind the 3pt line. The Hunt kid leaving will be hard to overcome. Skaggs has played varsity since he was in grade school, so he'll have to carry the load.
-
Raceland 2011/2012
They lost Risner and Farley their 2 best players from last season. Coach Floyd will have his hands full. If the Caudill kid plays he will help them inside.
