  1. Perhaps you're thinking of Scott Co.
  2. Are you fishing for something? Or is it a legitimate question? Seems there have been alot of kids get their educations paid for from this class.
  3. It's true, there is a new face under center rotating with the others, DeHoff and Cooper (who by all accounts would be the heir apparent). Seems that Cooper could make a bigger impact as a receiver if another player could play QB. He seemed to catch everything last season in the defensive secondary. Just some thoughts.
  4. I'm hearing there may be a new face possibly in that role, which in turn would allow the 3 you mentioned to play elsewhere, and would surely strengthen them offensively. Again, just hearsay.
  5. Personally, I think that the majority of posters on this site are truly interested in promoting and discussing players. Most are interested in building up student-athletes, not dressing them down. However, and this is only my opinion, I think that with every site of this sort, there are parents, and even athletes themselves (considering that you only need be 16 to sign up) that would rather make this a spitting contest and turn to degrade players instead of arguing or promoting their merits. So far, this has been one of my favorite threads I've had the pleasure of reading. Yet, I can't imagine it will be long before we have plenty of discussion on how some aren't "good enough". Seems football season brings that out more than any other.
  6. Just curious what other teams are doing? Heard another coach say he played 30+ last summer and would never do that again. Just wondering what factors into some decisions? Number of kids, etc?
  7. Your old buddy Dodd passed over at GC twice now. Perhaps you are the only one on the board with such high regard for him. As for the decision, seems they had the guy in house all along. Could have made this a much better affair if they'd have simply hired him instead of going through Ringling Bros. Coach Recruiting 101. No matter the circumstance, Mr. Nickel looks to be the last option, whether or not it's the truth. Good luck to him. To say he starts off with a full house is an understatement. How about the bullseye right out of the gate coach? Kinda like your neighbor Cooksey Jr. inherited last season. Now two old goats Rex and Dodd are out to pasture. Probably grazing over in Ward's yard.
  8. No you don't. The committee doesn't know who is next in line. That's a fact.
  9. Hicks is a sideline circus. Gripes every trip.
  10. I'm not sure I'd want to leave a team I coached at Alcatraz to come to Greenup County.
  11. No sir. We live in a country that thrives on being helped by the system, so why not blame it? No accountability anymore. I agree with westsider 100%
  12. Just so we are clear, are we talking about NCAA D1 or are we talking NAIA D1. Just want to make sure what we are speaking of.:thumb:
  13. Tim Fraley has also applied and interviews next week if the rumor I heard is correct. (Sorry if that's already been stated, just didn't have the nerve to wade thru all 5 pages)
  14. Yep. Final four is an underachievement. I suppose that every team that reaches the final four and doesn't win the title is an underachiever. Wonder if that shoe fits?
  15. And there will be a new witch out there somewhere next season. So don't worry Don Quixote, there will be another windmill for you to attack soon.
  16. Isn't that when Greenup went on a run?
  17. Yep, born in Richmond, KY. Aspires to move to Georgetown, KY and play for coach Hicks and be a winner.
  18. I would suppose that folks are talking about Euton, Jackson, Guyn and Flannery. Barber transferred too, but doesn't play. Are they eligible by KHSAA rules? Did we have the same whining when they lost last season in the regional final? I suggest we pass out the tissues.
  19. Yep, able to dry up Texas size tears. Rip off a couple of sheets and pass 'em out.
  20. Because you don't have paper thin skin. Good thing with all that negative reinforcement and all.
  21. It's just a game. And they keep score. This isn't the YMCA. Not everyone gets a trophy. Kids are soft these days. I know, I know, verbal abuse is damaging to the psyche of these moldable young men. Is it a possiblity that through some of the "abuse" there is some accountability taught? Some sense of resposibility to the team and doing one's job for the betterment of the whole? I'm not for a coach going on a profanity-laden tyrade in the face of a high schooler, and maybe that's what you're speaking of here. If so, I'm off base and apologize. If that's not the case, I suggest the kids take up home-ec and put the ball away.
  22. Sounds like someone could use some of these Scott tissues to clean up those tears.
