Williamsburg played Cumberland week 5 in 2007 and Evarts week 10. Everyone knows (maybe some don't) these schools consolidated with Cawood to make Harlan Central, this caused Williamsburg to need games these weeks. Williamsburg posted in Ky, TN, and WVA for games. The only school that responded week 5 was Jenkins. Jenkins was open because they were scheduled to play Evarts week 5. Jenkins 2007 record was 6-5, thrid place finish in their district and a first round playoff loss to Cumberlad. Jenkins beat Evarts in the regular season by more than the Jackets. It looked like a good game on paper. Williamsburg tried to schedule several schools for week 10. I know for a fact that the only game they could get was with a team out of WVA (4.5 hours travel time). Williamsburg choose to play Harlan week 8 and give up their by week between their big district games. It is very tough to schedule games in the middle of the 2 year contract.

I think the picks they make shows why they work at the paper and not on the sidelines.

The game vs McCreary is Williamsburg's Alumni Bowl Game. The Alumni Bowl is always the week of Labor day. It just depends on the week it falls. Last year it was week three, this year it is week two.

Williamsburg had five turnovers. Int. in the redzone, snap over the Qb's head in the redzone, fumble returned for a TD ,a fumble on Frankfort's 25, and a fumble on a kickoff return. Williamsburg had over 400 yards offense, around 250 passing and 150 rushing. they had a chance to win the game on the last drive but a fumble on a wide open sweep and a dropped ball in the endzone cost them the win.

How did Mccreary do last year with the single A teams?

Williamsburg will have a very good o-line this season. The Burg had a balanced attack last season 3500 passing, 2500 rushing. Some say this is their best line ever.
