Dudley is pretty well known for keeping the score respectable no matter how big the mismatch. :thumb:

That is what he did last year and they still scored over 70. It will not be pretty that is for sure.

:laugh: No doubt he was initially but since Watts will be back in a few weeks I am sure Rob is doing fine.

 

As for the football Raiders, we have already struggled but most of that is due to confidence issues. There is no doubt that the absence of Watts hurts our program because he is a great athlete. However, we have real good players and several more very good athletes that are capable of stepping up and getting the job done. Our line may not have been showing it lately but they have the ability to blow people off the ball and open holes for our backs (please remeber, we are also without our best lineman who is a senior, he is out with a torn ACL and MCL). Now that we cleared up the fact that we will struggle because that already happened Friday night against Pineville it is time to not worry about who isn't able to play and focus on playing at 100% with the players who are playing.

Bell county is an excellent team and my pick to win the championship this year. Our goal for the week is to coach our players up in an effort to make Bell throw the ball in order to beat us. Bell usually throws the ball only when they have to and in situations they need to in order to be successfull in a game. My prediction has nothiong to do with the score, and this is my prediction; Bell Co will not be able to go the entire game without throwing the ball. If Bell throws the ball in order to find success on any series in this game McCreary will view that as a small victory and something to gain confidense with. That may not seem much to a great program like Bell Co but it will be huge for a program trying to find themselves like McCreary. We played in the playoffs last year at Bell and everyone was very hospitible and I look for this trip to Log Mountain to be no different and I look forward to the good football atmosphere!

I think a 47-18 beating at the hands of 1A Pineville (who had only won 2 games all season against Jenkins and Jackson Co) already demonstrated that. McCreary's program overall is improved from year's past but this team IS Aaron Watts.

We met some really nice folks down at your place in the regular season game last year. We were excited about your first playoff game....but sorry about the score....Dudley played a lot of young players....but Bell's JV, Freshman and eighth grade I believe at that time were all undefeated. Good crop still coming on! JV has played a lot this year....and defensively have not allowed a score. They did fumble in the opening game after the varsity had a goal line stand to preserve the shutout against Garrard.....into endzone for one of the only three scores on Bell all season!! We looked forward to seeing Watts again on Log Mountain. I am sad that that will not happen for him. This year's Bell team is special. Bell was a sophomore driven team two years ago. That special group are all Seniors now and deserving of a shot at the title. They take each week one game at a time....and will be ready for McCreary. Although, Bell's attitude toward the pass with Zachary at the helm....changes the dimension. Bell even came out in the shotgun in the first series in a couple of games this year! Go figure!!
