Pulaski stepped up & played as a TEAM tonight. Sure, Abner had some yards & big plays for PC, but the entire team came to play tonight, opening up huge holes for Abner to run thru either on kick returns or on run plays. This may have been the best TEAM effort PC has shown in several years! I don't remember what Muse had passing but I know he only had 35 yards on the ground. If you told me Hines would not play & Muse would have only 35 yards rushing, I would say SW wins by 3-4 TDs. Great Job Maroons!!

Alex Abner had 426 all-purpose yards, 4TDs, & the stop on the goal line, forcing a fumble at the end of the game. When the SW kicker finally kicked one out of bounds in the 4th qtr to keep it from being returned, the SW side let out a huge cheer. Very funny stuff. SW did a very good job containing Chris Muse, but had no answer for Abner. Taylor Moat ran the ball well for the Warriors. The officials did a great job tonight letting the kids decide the game. They let them play. Congrats to the Maroons on the sweep this week.

I don't know about Northern, but the QB for PC JV was sophomore Zack Eastham.

Very entertaining game! A safety on the 1st possession of the game was the difference. Both teams played hard but both had costly turnovers. Alex Abner, Mason Flynn, Justin Cornett, Steven McQueen, & Logan Joseph( all freshmen or sophomores) did not play, nor will they play anymore JV this year. PC needs those guys on Friday nights. McQueen is the only one of that group you may see play JV this year. Tanner Burnett played all night long & Cody Boyd starts on the Freshman team. I'm not sure for SW, but I think one Epperson played, as well as the Floyd kid. Floyd ran the ball extremely well & broke off a couple of long TD runs. I'm sure Thursday night will be just as spirited in the Frosh. game & Friday night's Main Event will be amazing!! Great job by both teams tonight! PC just happened to be the better one tonight.

First, let me start by saying that I mean no disrespect to Birdsfan or the situation you are in, but rather just stating my opinion. I think there are many fans of many teams that are in that situation. Could you imagine a Die Hard Ft Campbell fan last in that same boat who is thinking that same thought, only to see that this year it is 2 hours closer? What if it had been at WKU last year and then they would have gotten to see there team win, what was obvious a huge win for that team and city. Empathy is something everone should have, so I guess the move will be personal to the positive for them. What is personal for me, I am glad to see another KY University rise up and get noticed. I have a feeling that the state finals will have a personal feel this year. I have been a few times in the last several years and have noticed the impersonal feel at Papa Johns'. Coach Elson and his staff, as well as the personnel at WKU will make ths a great experience for all in attendance. Plus I think the crowds will enjoy the new stadium too.

Did Edwards play for Lincoln? I had heard he was hurt from last week's game.

Were you at the game? The aforementioned TD pass came in the 3rd qtr. 18 is a sophomore and we would like him to get reps. PC fans love their players and they will show up for them. PC moved the ball as well as Rock did in the second half. rock didn't get the ball past PC's 40 all night. The rockets didn't even sniff the Endzone. PC was the dominent team on the field tonight and they beat Rock at their own game. Go PC!!!:ylsuper:

Actually, PC punted once in the game and that was in the Second half, Rock punted many times, including a quick kick in the 1st half. I think found it ironic that PC, a predominently Spread offensive team relied on the a 3 back set late to control the clock and Rock a power running team was trying to spread out a throw it. By the way, the one pass that was caught for a TD was thrown from Rock's 25, so I guess it had to be a play of 25 yards, seeing how he caught it 5 yards deep in the endzone and the ref won't him run it out the back .

PC and South Laurel scored a combined 121 tonight as well. This must have the week for no defense!:lol:

Pulaski hits a FT to win it in OT! Just kiddin'. PC was down 13 w/ just over 5min. to play. PC scored to cut it to 6,then recovered to on-sides kick.(SL actually lined up 15 yards off the ball instead of 10, allowing PC to recover. PC scored again w/ over 3 min. to go to go up by 7. SL goes 75 yards to score then kicks the PAT to tie it w/ just over 1 min. to go. PC couldn't get past SL's 30 before time ran out in regulation. OT: SL scores on its 2nd play but misses the PAT. PC scores on 3rd & goal from the 15, Lester w/ the PAT, Maroons WIN!!!! Craziest game I have EVER witnessed live!! Not real pretty, over 1,100 in total offense & almost 250 yards in penalties. Bottom line, PC gets a huge district win & back to .500 on the season.

Pulaski is the healthiest they have been this season. Barnett being out for the season does hurt though. I'll go w/ PC 47-28 in a shootout. It will be close till the 4th when PC pulls away(hopefully).

What does this have to do w/ PC beating S Laurel 56-0? By the way, PC was still missing some kids from the JV team. I also heard SL was missing it's starting QB. It makes it extremely tough to run that offense with a backup in there.

Where was this one played?

Pulaski scored early & often in this one. Score was 35-0 end 1st qtr & 49-0 half. South had 2 first downs in the game. 1 on its first play of the game & 1 in the 4th qtr. PC scored on every possession except the last one when they had a fumble on SL 5 yd line. Hopefully this is a good sign for Friday night. Good job young Maroons.

I still can't help but feeling that to voice this in the newspaper without talking to PC Administration (if they didn't know, I can't see how they didn't) smells a lot like begging - the meeting between administrations didn't happen until after the printing. Sure he may have been stating what he thought were just the facts, but why in that venue? I have seen first hand the treatment PC has received at the RCB over the last 2 years. This year Coach Tucker told PC they could dress in the Weight Room (when they arrived at the veune) so the coaches took them there only to have the home school coach tell them to "get out". The PC coaches stayed anyway. There is no excuse for this treatment, especially of a "hometown team". Now I am sure that Coach Tucker will deny this and tell you the "truth", but this happened, it is reality. Let me end this post with this, I can admire your blind devotion to your school, but not every that comes out of the establishment is truth. It is unfortunate that, we the public, have to get on here and be forced to play the HE SAID, HE SAID game, but here we are. And as far as the DMB, they definitely had an invite- everyone got one- I guess that Somerset probably should honor there week 2 contract - I know Mercer would be proud of them for that! Sorry about that, I had to get that jab in.

PC tried, but the AD (the guy who actually runs it) at Somerset wrote and open letter in the local newspaper begging that the good people of Pulaski urge PC into staying in the Correll Bowl for the good of the County

With that thought process, how can Somerset pass up the easy money they can make from the Don Marshall Bowl? All they have to do is what PC is being told they have to do, show up and pick up the fat check. I think that this has been spun that PC needs this bowl game more than Somerset needs the PC fan base to show up. I think that Somerset should recognize that they need PC just as much...and if they don't then why try to PUBLICLY bully a team into playing in YOUR bowl game?

Pulaski needs to work on getting better every play & not taking plays off. If last night was any indication of going undefeated, I would say not no, but Hell no. There is a LOT of work to get done. The talent & speed are there, they just have to get their heads in the game on every play. They will have plenty opportunity to get better this week, I'm sure. This team has the potential to be special, if they can put in all together. WORK HARD!!

Cole was still training through the Baseball season, wasn't he? Speaking of Cole, is he in the running for field time @ Vandy this year? With all the records he set in HS he would have been one for the list last year. It seems hard for kids from small schools to get looks, especially small schools in this basketball state.

I think size and not speed might be the dealbreaker for Hines. Not to make excuses ( which is what this may sound like, but it isn't) but rather to clarify, Hines has ran a consistent 4.50 (some were lower but none were higher) at every combine/camp he has been to this summer, which is quick enough to play on saturday at any lower DI and maybe it is enough for a big school to take a flier and try to make something with him. Now here is where it may sound like an excuse but it really isn't. John Cole is one of the fastest hs kids I have seen on a track, but all I saw him do was show up and run his two events and leave all the while, Hines was Long and Triple jumping before those very same events, which will wear on you. PC was trying to win the meet and Winston is a team player. But Cole is still faster just not as much as looked like during the track season. I just felt compelled to explain that.
