To answer swforever and others who have betrated me in PM's, here are my thoughts, I think that 2 really good teams lined and played there guts out. PC was one or plays from making the outcome different. As far as the Knox Central comment, I can't balme the refs, those plays do not make a difference if we convert on 3rd down late. Whitley made a good stop and #33 made a heck of a play on a 4th down play, knocking the ball down. Another inch and we convert and it is 1st and ten and we would have probably scored and put more pressure on WC. Of course that didn't happen, and Whitley took control and didn't let up after that. There is no quit in any of the Maroons and we fought until the whistle, which I think would earn some respect considering many of the predictions on here said we didn't even need ot make the trip we were goingto be beat so bad. I don't think that WC was overlooking PC, PC just took the fight to WC and tey weren't ready for that. I think if WC work on Play-action passing game they will be an even harder out this year. You know, it's funny what you guys are saying about Coach Hines. I get it, you don't like him, you like the one you got. Great, but don't get on here spouting your opinions about his character. I m sure that neither one of you know him too well, or would have the courage to say such things to him. I don't mind people picking against our team, that is your right and the purpose of this thread, but get on here and call a person classless and other names. As for the game, I believe PC will win, what kind of fan would I be if I didn't. I guess we will see what we got tonight. Good luck to Whitley. May the best team win.

Hey AJG, where is the 2nd round prediction thread for Somerset? I couldn't find it on here anywhere? WarriorPrincess, I couldn't find the one for SW 2nd round game either? Did you not start one?

Take it for what it is worth, but the one link in all the SW disappointment year-after-year, with all those D-1 talented athletes is Coach A. It's his job to have his team prepared & it just seems that year in & year out the Warriors end with a less than stellar performance in the playoffs. Yes, the players must perform what is taught to them all year long, but it is the coaches job to have those same kids mentally ready when you strap it on in the playoffs.

You may be able to say these things, fine. A quality coach should not, and will not throw young athletes under the bus. I don't care if it is the playoffs, motivation and focus is the coach's responsibility. I also do not think they had the right personnel in the right position. If you are asking a player to do something that is out of the skill set then blame them for not doing it, well that is coaching, ma'am. I will agree, Coach has been a great coach for SW, but some of this is on his shoulders, and if he is the man I think he is will shoulder it with pride and not hide behind blaming the players.

The Maroons will keep the Russell Co team and families in their prayers. A very sad day for this area, indeed.

Congrats to Boyle! This was a great JV conference this year! I hope it is this fu to watch young goys in this conference next year! I know it was a great experience for our boys! Congrats to Rock for getting to the Championship, we sure would have like to been there! We will be back next year, so watch out!

I think to put some perpsective on this. Even if you are getting bad calls ( see N. Laruel vs. PC 2007) you still have to "coach your players". I think that KC's coaching staff allowed refs affect their ability to focus on the game. It has been said in this thread earlier,penalties are a part of the game, a coach cannot control them and last night their coach hurt their team by his actions - especially at halftime. Someone said that adults affected the outcome of this game and I can see where from your view it was the refs, but from my view I saw a coaching staff lose their focus and eventually the ballgame. I think for all coaches that is a lesson that is humbly learned.

I am very proud of this group of kids from PC! They spotted one of the best teams in 4A 21 points, gathered themselves & came back for a great victory. It wasn't handed to them, they earned it. And, you must get out much if you think that was bad. Try traveling to some locations in the mountains. It's historic over there.

Pulaski had 10 penalties for 83 yards, not counting the penalties that were declined. Totals were 18 for Knox & 10 for PC. Not the major discrepancy KC fans will have you believe.

Get with your coaching staff, I'm sure they will have it. While you're watching, make sure to see the blocks in the back from KC that were called. I watched them myself. It must really suck to be #42 & get held on EVERY play.

WYMT showed it last night. Ball actually traveled over 10 yards. It was a clean play. About the penalties on the last drive, just because it is late in the game & the game is on the line, doesn't mean a pennalty doesn't count. A personal foul is still a personal foul. I am yet to here anyone say they were bad calls because they weren't. Knox committed the penalties. The only true "bad call" of the game was the "fumble" called against PC in the 3rd Qtr on the whistle that was blown yet no KC fan heard.

Not true!!! Hines had a long run to get PC into KC territory, then Muse with another run, in which a flag was thrown... when his helmet was almost ripped off his head by a KC player as he was being run out of bounds. But that was the refs just "deciding" the game, I guess. If you were there you would have seen it & not blaming a ref. If KC would have stopped PC in the first place, this would be a non-issue. Do not put blame elsewhere.

You say "if one were to listen to the game...", does that mean you were listening to the KC announcers doing the game on radio? Were you even there last night? Just wondering what you meant by "listening", not watching the game. We can go back & forth about the calls all day & night, but KC made too many mistakes on the field to say the refs "decided" the game. The bottom line is Pulaski beat Knox. Not the refs, the PC players on the field!!! I personally consider that a slap in the face to the players to both teams by suggesting the refs "decided" the game. The 2-point completion from Chris Muse to Zack Eastham " decided" the game!

How is that? Did the refs commit all those blocks in the back, or try to injure the QB from Pulaski a full 3 seconds after he releases the football, or go off the deep end & get unsportsmanlike penalties? PC committed a ton of penalties as well, so those cacel out. The refs did not take anything from KC, the PULASKI COUNTY MAROONS BEAT KNOX. Maybe they'll think twice before dancing on PC's mid-field logo in pre-game warmups. At least wait until after the game. Not very bright. Anyway, good luck to KC the rest of the season. It looks like a good rivalry brewing between these 2 teams.

That would be Rockcastle. they avenged an early season loss to Pulaski by beating them 32-6 at Pc tonight. #20 looked impressive for Rock tonight, he was the definging factor. Didn't remember seeing him the first time, must have been hurt or playing up at that time. PC had a lot of injuries/illness that limited their offense a bunch. Got to hand it ot Rock though, they played a great game of smash mouth football and just whipped us. Good luck to both teams but don't get comfortable with the title, because PC will be ready to win it next year!!!:fight::fight::fight:

54-13 midway thru the 3rd before coach Hines pulled his #1s. Probably the best PC has played this year.

Pulaski will be a little more healthy for this game they were last Friday. I'll say PC 40-Lincoln 34. PC must find a run defense or Lincoln could produce some problems.

With all due respect to SW, why do they have those freshmen on the field on kickoff? Why didn't they make the adjustment after the 1st one? How many other TD returns have they given up this year? Why did SW kick it deep 3 TIMES? My point is, SW wasn't going to stop PC that night, no matter where the Maroons started with the football. PC punted 1 time all night long. Neither team could stop the other. PC did come up with the one stop that mattered at the end of the game. Now, on to Friday night's game... Wayne County played an outstanding game against PC. DJ Hall was "The Man" on offense & defense for the Cardinals. Both teams made costly mistakes in the game, with ill-timed penalties & just some general poor play. Give Wayne all the credit in the world. They earned the win. Now PC has to regroup for Lincoln Friday night. Hopefully they will have some key players back who did not play last night. PC was missing 4 running backs for last nights game & one of their starting linemen. The way it looks right now though, regardless of the outcome w/ Lincoln, PC will host a 1st round playoff game.

Great job young Maroons! PC forced 5 turnovers last night. I noticed Letner on the sideline limping. Is he hurt? How long is Wheeldon out w/ the leg injury?What about Abner, poor kid looked like death warmed over last night on the sideline. Is he going to be ready for Friday? I have a feeling the Pulaski team of 2007 is upon us. The team that flat got after it last year! Go get 'em guys!

That is something I would like to see PC begin. How long has SW had the HOF?

As for the trophy, Cumberland Valley National Bank gave out an MVP for both teams & a Championship trophy. It was Mote for SW & Abner for PC.

I take it that Thomas was injured last week and did not play against Wayne.
