  1. IMO the key to this game was the Breathitt o-line. They picked up a lot of Russell blitzes and gave the quarterback time to throw the ball. I think Belfry will have their hands full in this one.
  2. The field goal would have been a 37 yarder. Dolly missed a 50 yarder by a few yards earlier in the season. He could have made it.
  3. I think Breathitt has a balanced offense that can hurt you in so many ways. Although there has been a great deal of improvement, Russell secondary is still suspect, especially if Breathitt can establish the run.
  4. Breathitt is the favorite in this game, but really haven't been tested. Russell, on the other hand, has been tested in several games this year. I have to give the edge to Breathitt, but it wouldn't surprise me if Russell won. Breathitt wins 34-28
  5. Should be a great game in 3A. Thoughts and predictions.
  6. Here are links to both teams regular season stats (Reported as of 10-31-07): Russell: http://scoreboard.12dt.com/scoreboard/khsaa/kyfb07?id=stats_24746 Mason Co: http://scoreboard.12dt.com/scoreboard/khsaa/kyfb07?id=stats_24698
  7. I've gotta go with Russell in this one. I expect it to be an offensive showdown, but the homefield advantage factor will prevail. Russell 35, Mason 32.
  8. This game should be the best game to watch in 3A. Thoughts/Predictions.
  9. I think West can play very well, but have not been consistent. If they can practice ball control and turn in a complete performance, they very well could win.
  10. I think West could definitely pull the upset if they keep Mason's offense off the field. However, I have to go with Mason 35-27.
  11. Looks like Elkins is hurt. Hopefully its not serious.
  12. Lewis finds a way to bring it all together. Lewis 35-31.
  13. IMO, Both teams played sloppy and both had a fair share of bad luck. With that being said, Russell probably had more mistakes at crucial times of the game. Such as the holding penalty on 2nd and goal at the 1. As for the fan yelling "Go Fleming", I heard it and I'm sure it was a Russell student. However, such idiotic remarks are not the view of the majority of Russell fans, just a teenager who likes to cause trouble.
  14. I think Russell has some more tough games to worry about before Belfry. First, East Carter won't be a pushover. Second, Mason will not roll over. Third, Breathitt County will have a say in it too. As for Raceland, I expect a determined Raceland team taking Russell to the horn. My prediction: Russell 34, Raceland 28
  15. Congrats Belfry, good to see the team healthy again.
  16.:laugh: Sounds like a hostile thread takeover.
  17. Wow. Thought Mason would win. Sloppy game, but Russell is making a believer out of me.
  18. Surprised. The daily independent said West Carter won. Must've been a good game.
  19. The long awaited rematch. Any thoughts. Who wins?
  20. Being from Eastern KY, I would like to see Russell win, but my gut says Mason by 6.
  21. IMO, clock management was suspect in this one for the Red Devils. The simple solution would have been to let the clock tick down to 2 or 3 seconds before kicking the field goal. Then, time will expire on the field goal attempt.
  22. IMO, the russell defense is improving and stops the run very well. This may prove to be beneficial against belfry, a run-oriented team. However, russell has been rather vulnerable against the pass. This is primarily a product of the youth of the secondary. To be a contender this year, they will have to improve in the secondary.
