Is this the first year for the Junior game? I don't remember them having one last year.

CovCath in another run rule. Has any team had 3 run rules in the same Regional tournament?

It's a crazy playoff system when 2 of the top teams have to play each other in the first round. Wouldn't it be better to just have one big regional tournament and seed it. Sorry, Congrats to both teams, Holy Cross had a great year.

Here's what I heard, not sure if it's correct. NewCath plays Bellevue, Newport gets winner on one side of bracket. Highlands plays Dayton on the other side of bracket.

I've been very impressed with Jake Cain also, if he gets a little more handle on his control he'll be a very good pitcher.

Nate Rawe pitched a complete game for NewCath and knocked in the winning runs.

Chris Kelly, NewCath

Bellevue had a good coach in Mike who was willing to stay long enough to turn the program around, but the short sited powers at be let him go. No one can turn a program around in one year. You lost your opportunity.

I guess that's a nice thing to do for the pitcher who has a no hitter going but normally it would be scored hit.

NCC did have an infield hit in the last inning but Smith did pitch a great game. Tough to hit at night against a good pitcher this early in the season.

NewCath and Lloyd got 2 innings in with NewCath up 2-0. Hopefully it will resume Wed. night.

Congratulations Blake, not everyone gets to experience a walk off HR.

NewCath came back from 9-1 hole to win 11-9 in 8 innings. Jeromy Connor was 5-5 including a 2 run single in the 7th to tie the game for NewCath.

LexCath and Shelby Valley

I haven't seen Eastern play so I can't comment on them, but Shelby Valley, LexCath and Elliott Cty are every bit as good as Holmes. Elliott is the most fun to watch team I've seen all year. Look out if their hitting their outside shots. Shelby Valley is big with a very good point guard.

Survive and move on, that's all NCC did. Very lucky to win. Not there best effort. Jake Ollberding stepped up and had a nice offensive game for NCC.

If that's true that the band has to pay to get in, that is definitely wrong. If the BOKC can't let them in free, then the school should pay for them. I saw Holmes pep band there the other night at the girls game. They were trying to play at half time but the BOKC's music was drowning them out. You couldn't even here the Pep band. I felt sorry for them. The BOKC needs to be more aware of those things.

$8.00 might be a little steep for a student, but tickets were $10.00 at EKU for the All A and I'm sure they're at least that at Rupp for the State Tournament. Most kids spend $2.00 a day on pop. Paying $2.00 more to play at NKU is worth it. You don't need to get to the game an hour early to get a seat and for that matter a parking spot. NKU is alot more accessable than either Conner or Holmes. Sure the food is expensive, they have to pay workers, they're not volunteers like the high school concessions are. Let's not ruin a good thing just because it's not perfect. It's their first year, let's give them a chance.

Highlands has too much size for St. Henry and Grubbs should have a big game. St. Henry will have to shoot well from 3 to take this one.

Bryan and Schue will have to have 40 and 20 for Villa to win. Probably not going to happen against St. Henry.

That would be a shame if she doesn't play because she might be a better college prospect for softball than basketball, where her lack of height doesn't hurt her.

Another unseeded district, what a shame that they play again for the third time. It's tough to beat a team 3 times but I think CC will do it.
