homeofthewhopper Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 NCC returns what some say is the best 2nd basebman/pitcher in the region in Jeramie Connor Nate Rawe IMO one of the best SS Mark kelly one of the best catchers Chris Grosser is extremly fast as how does the rest of the line up shake out? This team will be dangerous and surely a 9th region favorite!
Breds_12 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I did not think that Newport was very strong last year.
homeofthewhopper Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 I did not think that Newport was very strong last year. do you mean Newport or Newport Central Catholic? NCC did win the region last year how could they not be very strong???

DMZ76 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Sr. stalwart Matt Giesler in the OF, maybe 1B...starter last year and showed a bat with pop in it! Will Logan Ferrarra return to the diamond? What about Matt's brother Jake? Jake is a big arm and stick, too. Only a soph-o-more. And surely there's a Pangallo-Sandfoss-Devoto-etc...to fill out the roster! (LOL)
cooperstown Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Who is expected to be the primary pitchers behind Conner? And do any of them have extensive varsity experience?
Breds_12 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 do you mean Newport or Newport Central Catholic? NCC did win the region last year how could they not be very strong??? NCC was not very good i thought. Harrison beat them last year.
texas Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Brian Doyle could see some Varsity time this year in the OF, he has a good arm and can cover a lot of ground.
Breds_12 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 NCC was not very good i thought. Harrison beat them last year. I diddint mean to come off so negative in this message. I just ment that when Harrison played them last season, I did not think that NCC was as good as people are saying, but then again it is a new year so things might change.
frankdavis Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Brian Doyle could see some Varsity time this year in the OF, he has a good arm and can cover a lot of ground. Very limited... He has speed and a good arm, but at the varsity level pushing the ball towards the right side can be very detremental. He needs to speed up his bat. As a junior I see a lot of PT for him.

homeofthewhopper Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 (edited) Chris Grosser is extremly fast as -- Not playing Wow that's a shame he's pretty good player that will be missed but I'm sure they'll find a good replacement. Edited February 23, 2009 by Ram Rule 13
DMZ76 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Which Chris Grosser? The soccer goalie or the FB kicker?
NKU20 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Which Chris Grosser? The soccer goalie or the FB kicker? Kicker and one time Muddog.
DMZ76 Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Kicker and one time Muddog. Any particular reason? Did he get a job? or just fed up with sports? What about Logan Ferrara? Is he coming back to the diamond?
