11th Region Week 4 Review

Recommended Posts

What a week in the 11th Region! The central KY area was blessed with some of the top teams in the state of Kentucky making there way to Lexington to play in the Traditional Bank Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic and the Central Bank Classic at LCA. Some other teams around the region ventured out to test the competition around the state and out of state. The 11th is quite the story this season. Everyone is pretty set on who the top 3 teams are but after that I'm not sure you wouldn't have a better chance of ranking them if you just pulled the next 7 out of a hat. Lets get to it!

TEAM RANKINGS

1. Lexington Catholic (12-0) - The Knights continue to roll on through the early part of their schedule. Lexington Catholic hosted the Traditional Bank Holiday Classic this week and came away champions of the event that was LOADED with talent. To take the crown the Knights beat Martin County, Beechwood, Frederick Douglass, and Madisonville North Hopkins. Ben Johnson was named tournament MVP but Peyton Pelfrey was the hero of the night with a last second tip in to get the Knights the victory over Madisonville North Hopkins. The Knights have proved they are a legitimate top 3 team in the state and contender for a state championship. This week the Knights hit the road to St. Henry for their only game of the week.

2. Frederick Douglass (9-3) - The Broncos also competed in the Traditional Bank Holiday Classic and finished 4th place in the loaded event. To start the tournament FDHS beat a good North Oldham team and then backed that up by beating one of the top teams in the 5th Region in Bardstown. Next up the Broncos fell to tournament host and eventual winner Lexington Catholic before dropping the third place game to Bourbon County in a highly entertaining game. DaShawn Jackson and Jaylan Green continue to pace the Broncos. This week the Broncos host Tates Creek in a very intriguing game.
