Cooper vs Newport Central Catholic Predictions

Featured Replies

Lets go ahead and get a thread started.

NCC looks like the favorite but Cooper has shown that they can play as a team and they are playing with a ton of confidence. Beating the likes of Boone Co and Dixie in back to back games has to mean something.

NCC's Big's are finally starting to blossom and they have strong guards in Beuter and Hightchew. Miller is their mainstay on the court showing great leadership and Ryan can sneak some 3's in on ya right quick.

I think NCC gets back to the finals.

NCC - 57

Cooper- 49

I think NCC wins this if they are patient and play both bigs a lot of the time. Cooper is tough minded and won't be passive. Theu will move and switch well with NCC's motion sets. It should be a fun one to watch.

I look for a low scoring grind it out kind of game. If Cooper can keep the game in the 40's to low 50's, I like their chances. If it get any higher than that I think NCC has the edge.

Cooper 53 NCC 49

I think it is a bad matchup for Cooper. NCC has too many weapons, they have size and they seem to be playing well again. Back in December, I saw NCC and thought they were right there with Dixie as the team to beat in the region. They hit some road bumps and then had McDonald get hurt. But right now with Dixie gone, I am going to go back to my thoughts in December and say NCC is going down state.

The key to NCC winning this game will be doubling down on LM and putting Hightchew on Collins and telling him to stay up in his grill all night. Can't leave him for one second. With Cook's confidence gone, Collins is really the only 3 point threat. Looking forward to a good game. This will also be the first meeting of the season for these teams which should make it interesting.

I will still root like heck for the Jag's but watching NCC for the first time last night my first thought was I didn't like this match-up for Cooper. Never count a team out that plays with no fear and has a coach with no fear.

This is one of those "head says heart says". Go with the heart - Go Jags. If Cooper pulls the upset, it will be by a bucket. NC could win big if Collins is held in check. NC bigs can carry the Breds to Rupp

NC by 15. I say 57-42. No disrepect to Cooper, but NC pulls away similar to vs. CovCath. Too much size vs. Coopers lone big, and enough guard play and outside shooters to get them to the finals and to state.

I believe that NCC will prevail in this game . Going with my son-in -law and grandson to the game . He is 10 months old and a future Bred !

This is the key part of that statement and plural it needs to be, hoping Beuter will find his shot again and if that happens, NewCath pulls out a close one.
