February 22, 201214 yr Who is going to be first to develop a youth bass fishing league to make sure the young ones have the tradition and competetion from the get go and grow up wanting to be varsity bass fisherman like their Grandfather's, Father's and Uncle's before them?? I have a concern that some of the more well to do districts or private schools could be supplied with nicer bass boats than some urban or very rural schools. I know there are some big time alums that could provide some schools with tritons while some will be standing on the banks.
February 22, 201214 yr What does the offseason training program look like?? Will Kenton County schools spend some money to upgrade the Doe Run Lake facilities to be able to accommodate all the spectators and maybe host the regional championship?? When does BGP create the new forum??
February 22, 201214 yr R The biggest advantage the Catholic Schools will have is that some of their all time top twelve, were indeed Fishermen.....! :lol: Those talented 12 were not only amazing fishermen, they were also fishers of men, coached by the most famous coach of all time.

February 23, 201214 yr FLW has been behind the fast growth of collegiate bass fishing the last few years. They started a high school championship a year or two ago. National Guard has been a huge sponsor of the college fishing tour.
February 23, 201214 yr I talked with a good friend of mine who works for FLW. FLW helped Illinois get their state program up and running (KY will be the second state). He said there were over 300 participants at the Illinois championships.

Upon the announcement of the new sport the Ft Thomas city council ended the deer hunting within city limits and replaced it with no limit on the number of fish you can catch. Covington Catholic responded by offering "fishing scholarships." Will Cov Cath allow any night fishing...or would the lakefront property owners object?
February 23, 201214 yr I hear a certain EKY school is scrambling to figure out a way to dry the center of the lake. They figure it will give their noodling team a chance to compete with the big city kids and their fishing yachts.
