I'll take the 40 days in a row of 95 degrees. My kind of weather. It's better than snow and having the whole state shut down.

Snow has never shut the state down, ice and cold(which don't like) has, but not snow, unless it was before can remember. I just don't want to hear any of these 12 month a year summer lovers that choose to live in Ky. complaining about unbearable heat for 3-4 months and drought conditions like Texas had last year. Personally like Seasons, seems like over the last 5 years, there has not been a Fall, very little Winter or Spring and straight to Summer, started mowing last year in March and that was a first, before this cold snap, may have been mowing at the end of February this year:madman:

I get sick of schools shutting down, basketball games cancelled and idiot drivers because of 1" of snow. Schools should be delayed and not closed, grocery stores shouldn't be raided and people should drive with caution when it snows. Unfortunately none of that happens when the clouds start spitting snow. Panic and stupidity ensue.

 

You'll never hear me complain about the heat. I can't wait to retire and move to Florida or Myrtle Beach. I need heat for happiness.

Sorry. I can't equate "stupidity" and "schools being shut down." If the point of school is to provide education (thus, "non stupidity"), schools need to be able to maintain a minimum number of days each year. Going to school an hour or two late multiple times each year adds up over the long run and is detrimental. That's why I like KYs rule on having missed so many hours, having to make up a day. In Indiana, you could miss 2 hours every day and not make up a minute of time.

The grocery I work at was jam packed on Friday for a 1 inch forecast of snow that never materialized.:idunno:

I have family that lives in Colorado and they frequently are out of school when the roads are icy.

 

In Kentucky, we'll go the same number of days regardless. I'd rather err on the side of caution in certain circumstances. We are talking about keeping children safe here.
