Dixie also has a pretty decent Freshman coach, Greg Preston, who was a pretty good player in his day. Comes from a football family. Not saying he's ready to head up a large school yet but give him time.

Brilz is a very smart guy and I believe he wants move up the coaching ranks, but I don't see him making this move.

175 posts into this thread and there is still those that believe Coach Lickert is a candidate for this job? Why would he leave CC after such a promising Year #1? Why would he be attracted to Dixie (a team that his club defeated handily in 2011)?

 

At CC, Coach Lickert has:

 

1) built a loyal following of fans & supporters.

2) 60-70 kids in the weight room 4 days a week. The players are hungry!

3) administration support.

4) a strong group of returning players including the 6A POTY in No KY (QB - Tyler Duram).

5) an incoming 2012 class of Freshmen that won the No. KY Large (Middle) School Championship over CovCath.

5) a vibrant and growing youth league program (over 200 players).

6) a state-of-the-art football facility under construction (similar in look to Ryle HS).

7) built synergy with his solid coaching staff.

8) momentum going into 2012 as the returning 6A NKY District Champions!

 

IMO, there is only one other school in NKY that he would even consider (and we all know where that is)!!

With all due respect CCFC, I only saw Lickert's name show up three times in this entire thread and I think only one mentioned him as a candidate. Don't think Camel fans have anything to worry about.

He may end up there one day. He is definitely a promising coach IMO.

I dont think anyone has mentioned former Dayton coach Zach Deaton. He has the experience and knowledge of the game, this could possibly be a good fit. Where is he coaching these days?

I believe he's at Newport.

Deaton teaches at Highlands but not sure Where he coaches.

WOW surprised at how some feel about Coach Brilz, I think he is a tremendous coach and young man and would make a great head coach, hope he stays where he is at does a great job with Beechwood and those young men both in football and baseball. Maybe some should really get to know him. Great guy. JD
