OK. Gotcha. I thought you were saying Beechwood being an independent public school makes them different from Dixie as, I guess, a county public school. I have seen that term independent used when describing some public schools and don't really know what the significance is.

Just means independent school districts, such as Covington (Holmes) and Ft. Mitchell(BW), Ft. Thomas(Highlands).

And Bellevue Independent public school, Ludlow Independent, etc....

Erlanger/Elsmere Independent schools also. JD

Dave Brossart would do a great job. Thinking nothing would change is ridiculous. From coaching with Dave, I can tell ya exactly what you get with DB as ur HC. First Dave will bring an attitude of intensity, toughness, incredible work ethic, and a level of "nastiness" that is often necessary in football. Dixie will have the most well coached lineman they have ever had. The weight program will be well organized and very intense. Dave is a tough, hard working guy from Covington.His passion in life is to do "whatever it takes" to help young people get better. I can tell you with absolute 100% certainty-if Dixie's kids are willing to work harder than they have ever worked, Dave Brossart would have an immediate impact on a program that is already established. I think Tom Spritsky is a great high school coach. The program is in great shape. But, DB will have a very DIFFERENT approach to how things are done. If kids "buy in", people would compare their work ethic to what is going on in Ft. Thomas. If they don't buy in, it doesn't matter who you hire. From coaching with Dave Brossart, I can promise you, the players will love his passion, love his work ethic, and will see everyday a gentleman who always model what is good in life. The players will become very close to Dave. He will push them very hard and demand their best effort, they will know he cares about them.

My understanding is Dixie interviewed four people. Based on what we are reading in this thread, it sounds like Dave Brossart and Darrick Brilz are two of the four. Assuming those two are correct, who are the other two who interviewed?

True. No doubt a lot of it will come down to how the actual interviews went. I heard someone talking about Sabin's interview with Alabama. He blew the Bama folk away because he came into the interview in a completely different manner. Instead of praising Bama, talking about their great tradition, talking about how great it would be to have the job and how much he wanted it ... Sabin came in with a To Do list and talked about why Bama was behind other schools and how he could fix it. He talked about facilities issues, etc., gave the Bama folk a hard dose of reality and had a "business plan" on how to improve Bama and get them back to winning titles.
