November 9, 201114 yr I think it is sad when people put any institution or individual above the protection of children, especially ones that are already at a disadvantage in life. No person or institution no matter what whether it is Church, Government, and least of all a football team should be excused for covering up the sodomy of children. Jo Pa is/was a great football coach who won 2 championships without cheating. To me that now means nothing and he is a far worse individual in my opinion than anyone from SMU, the U or any other place with recruiting violations. He should have protected those children but instead protected the institution of Penn State football. For that Jo Pa should pay with his job and instead of chanting "Let Joe Stay", they should be chanting "Why did you let it Happen". This is a case where the cover up isn't worse than the crime but it is worse than any recruiting violation and Jo Pa's win with honor means nothing because football is a game. His moto should have been live your life with honor and reported the crime then his legacy would be firmly intact. Instead he will go down as the coach who knew kids were being raped in his locker room and did nothing about it. His legacy is that of a coward and it should be. Jo Pa should go.

November 9, 201114 yr What is wrong with these people? Let Joe Stay? You have got to be kidding me. I know that this has to be hard for the people in the Penn State community, but if these people can look past all of the disgusting allegations that have come out for sports, they all need to be mentally examined. I love sports too and have my favorite teams in just about every sport. I don't care if something like this ever took place with Louisville, UK, Ohio State, UC, or anyone else, not mattering which sport it is. If their coaches did something like this or knew about it and just turned their cheek, I would be all about getting rid of them. There's no room for things like this to happen whatsoever with any sports program regardless of prestige or in any other settings for that matter.
November 9, 201114 yr They all should be fired. Everyone who had any bit of knowledge about the situations. People are rioting at Penn state and ESPN has poker on. :ohbrother:
November 9, 201114 yr He should have protected those children but instead protected the institution of Penn State football. Bingo
November 9, 201114 yr And now there's a riot on the PSU campus: Are they rioting in favor of Paterno?
November 9, 201114 yr Author Are they rioting in favor of Paterno? I haven't been able to determine exactly what's going on yet.
November 9, 201114 yr They all should be fired. Everyone who had any bit of knowledge about the situations. People are rioting at Penn state and ESPN has poker on. :ohbrother: In defense of ESPN they have spent a whole lot of money to have the final table play out without the winner leaking out. There is a 15 minute delay on the action and ESPN has so many channels they should give us A+ coverage on the riots on some channel without disturbing the poker. That being said, why aren't they covering the riots on one of the ESPN channels?
November 9, 201114 yr I sure hope not. Me too. But the mob cheering outside of his house doesn't give me much optimism.
