This situation is egregious enough where the normal HR protocol is void.

A lot would depend on who told me, who they said did, and my relationship with both people. I would hope I would raise a fit until something was done, but to sit here and say I would or wouldn't do this or that isn't something I can answer. Until you are in the situation I don't think any of us know how they would take it. I think we all hope we would do the right thing, but until you know who the accuser is and who is being accused I think it's hard for any of to say we would or wouldn't do this or that. I mean I know I have people in my life it would take a lot to convince me that they hurt a child.

He forfeited anything he's earned when he failed to act like a decent human being IMO.

I guess I should have said this earlier too and part of the reason I take this different, in law school and now I've worked with a few clients that I truly believe were wrongfully accused of rape/molestation and we have jury verdicts to back those up. Those people never got their lives back because of how people went screaming all over town about it. Not saying this guy is innocent, but once these things are made public and go from internal investigations to public ones, regardless of the outcome there will always be a segment of the population that consider them rapists/molesters.

If I'm told my best friend is in the showers with a ten year old boy (at the very least JoePa was told that if not more), then I immediately report him. Not a question. I have been put in hard situations before and this is the path I've taken.

You can't just throw out names of people that are close to you and say what if it happened with them. It's not even close to the same situation. But no matter who it is you do the right thing.
