Up 50 in the first half, play book is wide open. Up 50 in the 4th quarter you coast. Up 50 in the 3rd, wide open with your subs.

Subs were in to start the second, half. Already up 58-0 at that point.

Still throwing the ball up 50 is not impressive...shows me something else.

You do realize that Trinity could have easily scored 100 points had they wanted? With all due respect this game never should have happened as Simon Kenton had no business being in the playoffs in the first place. If this game doesn't illustrate the travesty of everyone making the playoffs then nothing does. For a little perspective on just how bad it was. Trinity scored 14 seconds into the 1st quarter after SK fumbled the opening kick. SK then proceeded to control the ball for 8 minutes (with some very good play calling I might add) but came away with nothing. Translated that means they controlled the ball for well over half of the first quarter and Trinity was still able to put up 58 points in the first half.

I didn't get to see the game, but I paid $5 to log onto wi-fi on an airplane and some of the names that I saw in my twitter updates were not names normally heard during a Trinity game, espescially when the first half has yet to end. It sounds like Trinity called off the dogs VERY early in the game. Congratulations to the Rocks! Sorry to hear that SK suffered some injuries, and I hope the kids recover well.

Great post - really sums it all up. Your right on the money.:thumb:

Couple things...we could have easily put up triple digits on SK. This game should have never been played. KY's playoff system is seriously flawed. I understand getting more kids the chance to play in the playoffs, but was this really worth it for them?

Secondly, while standing on the fence in the first half, myself and the two other gentlemen I was standing with were discussing the playcalling. It was the first half, we did not expect the starters to be out of the game or for them run FB dives the whole time, but we were confused by the lack of running. I do not have stats in front of me, but I'd be surprised if they ran the ball more than 5 times. It seemed out of the norm for what Beatty and Cov. usually call. Where they working on something specifically?

I'm not questioning Beatty and company in any way. You won't find a bigger T supporter than myself. It just did not make a lot of sense to us.

On a side note, the OL who taunted the kid after Quick's hit was pulled after the penalty. Not sure if he returned to the game. Beautiful hit, poor reaction by the OL.

Congrats T.

Like I said in the X thread. I don't like seeing games like this. It is silly and does no good for these or any program. KHSAA needs to fix this.

You guys are really setting up these off seasons thread topics quite well, and without much effort it seems.

Please elaborate on that. It's early....I'm not following.

Quick's block and the subsequent penalty occurred almost directly in front of my seat. The penalty was caused well after the play. The kid was was in a group with his teammates probably 15 yards away from the downed SK player. I believe the kid must have said something to his mates that the ref heard, and this was the source of the unsportsmanlike call. I don't believe there was any communication directed to the fallen player. I am not saying that the penalty was not the proper call. But I don't think it should be considered as taunting by any means.

Thanks for clearing that up. We were unsure what the flag was for initially.

We ran the ball 22 times, and threw it 21 times.

This is not directed at any SK fan specifically, but how come everytime Trinity and Simon Kenton lace 'em up there is an SK fan complaining about something that Trinity or its fans did during the game? Its quite remarkable.
