Speaking of injuries, Is it only a "rest of football world" rule that states that when the clock stops to attend to a player down on the field that he must come off the field for 1 play?

 

I saw it at least 3 times tonite for Elder and nobody came off the field. Anyone...........

I dont even think its even that. An unwritten rule among the faithfull at Highlands is not to discuss injuries.

But lets get something clear for those specualting, What I saw them looking at was his left wrist and thats it, dont know where a concussion talk came from.

Dale and company probably looked at this meaningless game and did the right thing in holding him out.

We got a State Champsionship to win here people.

When I was watching the internet broadcast, I saw the Elder Vorhees twice get hurt, but no Elder trainer or coach come to look at him. He stayed down for awhile but ended up going back in the huddle. Even the announcers said they should look at him.

Let me clarify my question and what I assume. When the clock stops because the ref asked for it because of a player down or attention needed due to what appears to be an injury it doesnt matter if the trainer or doc or whoever comes on the field or not to attend. The rule says that player comes off the field for minimum 1 play. Right?

It is only by the grace of God that Towles did not get his neck broken on this play. I was trembling after watching the tape and I am not being overly dramatic. What is troubling is that the hit was a helmet to helmet hit in the back of the head while a player is sitting on the ground. What is more troubling is that there was an official at the four yard line five yards away from the play. He was facing the Highlands cheering section and looking directly at the play. The other official (white hat) #2 was standing at the 20 yard line and was totally focused on the play. I am asking something that I've never done before, but I think it's appropriate. I am asking my Bluegrasspreps brethren to put all of our petty differences aside and help me bring this to the attention of as many as possible. Anyone that can obtain a video of this play and either post it on You Tube or wherever, I would certainly appreciate it. My goal is that by circulating this play on the internet is that #1 these particular officials receive additional training in recognizing not only illegal but potentially paralyzing hits and #2 as a wake up call to all to show how when not played correctly, how dangerous this game can be.

I no longer give a darn about a holding call, a pass interference call, or offsides, but I do give a darn about the lack of enforcement of play that could have potentially not just ended a football career, but the basic bodily functions needed for everyday life.

I ask that you watch the play before supporting me or bashing me, that is all.

The ref in the white hat didn't see anything all night long. He must have been blind !!!!!!!!

thats a legal hit in the pic, he isnt down. I had 2 concussions and I know how his head may be feeling right now and it is not fun. I hope he takes all the time he needs to recover 100% before getting back out on the field.

You're right Joe, he has an innate ability to keep his butt suspended in the air. Highlands players may walk on water:D, but they’re not very good at levitating. Watch the video Joe. Thanks for the update on the NCC game.
