That would really shock me if they did. Top programs just don't do that.

Elder just might have the "let's get the season over with" mentality. I don't care how big the program is. It has been a terrible year for them.

As 75 Center points out, it would be surprising if as a team they feel this way. After all, they are still a GCL school, playing a KY school, which should be a cake walk for them (pun intended). I do see their earlier losses weighing on them mentally if the Birds can get up on them by a few scores early, and then get a 3 and out or two. That may begin to put some doubt in their minds.

How many starters??

I am hearing that 8 of the 13 are starters.

Is this game going to be on video online?

Well, they are either going to take the easy road with that mentality or they are going to take the hard road and that will mean giving it 110% and that is what I expect from Elder. Nothing more and nothing less.

These kids at Elder are much like the kids at Highlands. Generations, legacys and Tradition. The roots run deep and their KoolAid is a little darker Blue then ours and they drink lots of it over there on the Westside.

Folks, this isn't any team or program that Highlands has faced or will face all yr long. Ramsey and Elder are fighters and winners and they will go about business as usual at the Pit.

Nothing comes easy for the top programs, when you are winning its tough to stay on top and when you are losing or are having issues within the camp it is even tougher. But these Blue Colar Catholics will bring it Fri nite. You can count on it.

The proof will be in the pudd'n.

All year we've heard Elder had a "young team". Their O-Line is BIG, with #78 committed to play at UofL next season. I agree, at a program like Elder's, the subs are not that far behind a starter.

Go Birds! ... WE BELIEVE!

Both teams have a lot to prove on Friday night.

Elder is going to try to prove that their team is better than their record shows. They are also going to show people just how good the football is in the GCL South. Being in the basement of their conference , they are going to try to show everyone the distance between high school football in Ohio and Kentucky. The Elder players that are replacing the suspended players will be trying to prove just how good they are ,and there is no bigger stage than the pit on a Friday night against an out of state 4 pete state champion. The Elder players aren't going to run and hide , their reputation is on the line , and Highlands is the one calling them out. This will be a war , as long as each team has 11 players on the field , it will be a fight to the end !!!

Highlands will try to prove that this Highlands team can compete with the big boys of Ohio. They also want to prove that this team belongs on record with all of the other great Highlands teams. This team wants to keep the streak alive and prove that they can beat Elder in the pit . This Highlands team has worked for 4 years and they are going to leave it all on the field , win or lose , they will fight like pitbulls. It should be a great game for all to see , and I hope no injuries to either team !!

No way the Birds take this game lightly even if Elder has starters suspended. There back ups will be ready to play. Birds still win but it won't be like the scores that they have posted in the last few weeks.

So they'll have plenty of time to adjust to Weinrich's adjustments......:eyeonyou:

It seems Coach Weinrich's adjustments are few and far between.. Why did he change to a 3-4??? not a Mike LB in the land?

For what it is worth...

The "match up" on High School Sports Net...using Massey ratings...predicts a score of Highlands 34 Elder 32.

Where do I sign up? I'd take that score right now.

Elder is not a top program. In all reality, they stopped being a top progam several years ago.

Hate to say that, but it's true.

They'd be #2 in Kentucky.

The people at Trinity are not going to like that one.

No, it's not true. Two years ago ranked 4th in state of Ohio, three years ago ranked second in OH and 11th in nation. They've had a couple rough years but they're still a top program. Now if they string a few more years like this year and last, you can say that.
