I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the game plan that was implemented way back when will work tonight when all is said and done. And when it does, then there will 1 more team to use it against.:sssh:

I completely disagree.

You can disagree but I would suspect Dale knows the mindset of his team. I know when my son was on the team in 3 years he never said a word about OH vs KY, was just focused on the specific OH team they were playing.

Make no mistake Elder has played one of the toughest schedules in the nation. The Birds must bring their "A " game to win. I'm going with the Birds on this one because they have a strong passing game and a fast defense. If Elder can pound the ball with the A.J. Burdine kid they can win this game. Believe me they are a good football team. By now Elder should have realized they don't have the team speed they've had in previous years and play to their strenghts which is their size advanage. having said that Don't buy into that talk that Ohio Football down this year. there are some Ohio guys who tried to use this as an excuse to discount the wins Ky teams get on Ohio teams. If the Birds can win this will be a very big win for them.

Ohio Football is down this year. Whether you want to believe it or not is your decision. I live here, I breathe it, I know it better than you. Trust me, it's down.

Elder and "team speed" should never be used in the same sentence unless it's to emphasize that Elder has two team speeds: slow and standing still. That's one mark against you.

WHEN Highlands demolishes a very down, very poor, undermanned Elder team tonight, it will be to no one's surprise. Elder stinks...plain and simple. If Highlands is as good as they think they are, this should be a 3 TD win...AT MINIMUM.

Again, don't let facts get in the way of a good argument.

So, you think HHS is on the level of St Edward, St X and Moeller? Boy I sure hope so.

Who said that? Not me.

I've not compared X, Moeller and St. Edward to Highlands. Transitive property doesn't apply in football boss. Sorry.

They all won by around 3 td's or less over Elder, some may have been away, I don't know. Yet you think HHS should win by 3 td's at a minimum. Seems to me you're putting HHS about the same level as the others, maybe higher.

CF, I hope you're right about the 3+ TD margin of victory, but I (and a whole lot of Highlands football fans) will be very surprised if HHS is able to beat Elder by that margin at Elder this season. We'll all soon see! Go 'Birds!

I agree with you that in football, the transitive property does not hold. But, with that in mind, the kind of offensive football that is played by Elder (based on not a ton of speed but rather a lot of size/power) has historically given Highlands some problems. Without really knowing anything about Elder's RB, I can promise you that in most years, a Division I Cincy team with a big O-line and a RB who goes 6'3" and 230 pounds would give Highlands some problems defensively. We'll soon see how this year's defense handles the challenge.

I rarely cross the river unless I absolutely have to. Can someone post directions or the school/stadium address?

The same old pre-game excuse making we heard before the St. X game.

Nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade. That said, when HHS wins tonight, it'll still be an impressive and solid win.

come on now is called giving credit when it's due not the excuses that ohio football is down this year. BTW I Never said Elder has had great team speed I was simply implying they've had enough team speed in the past to win more games. Right now they are just slow at every spot. I also believe Ohio has the best teams from top to bottom year in and year out as any state this year included. Having said that I've never seen an ohio team with blazing team speed. Also 2011 Trinity is the deal they matchup with any Ohio team any year. Btw that also Goes For My home State Florida,as well Tx,Cal or any other State.

I agree. I think a big part of that is because Cincinnati football is down this year. Some would say way down.

There is absolutely no way Highlands should lose this game tonight. If they do, then they should never expect Ohio D-1 football to ever look at them as nothing more than a nice little KY team.

Highlands wins this game easily!
