What can HHS do better next game and how do they do it ?

 

I've already been told that we should expect to see more passes to Sheehan and not just fly patterns.

 

I'm more interested in what we will see defensively from HHS. How do they account for CCH size ?

 

I'm sure you'll see in the playoffs.

I suppose we've come to one conclusion that almost everyone can agree on, neither team played their best.

Unless you hear something from Dale Mueller, ignore it. I doubt if he even knows what to expect for any potential rematch at this point. I think you can expect Highlands to tackle better. If I recall correctly the team had similar problems early last year and had that corrected come playoff time.

Question for Birds Fans. Do they tinker w/ a four man front next game? I wasn't at the game, so the front and angles may not have been the issue. I just wonder since CovCath is so big up front, do you bring in another DLineman to take away angles to your LBs?

 

Yes they will have to put another Dlineman on the line and i think they will...Highlands will make adjustments on D and so will CCH..the only problem is that it doesnt matter what anybody does defensively against Highlands they are that strong.

Inches....yes and if Seidl doesnt fumble they win by 12 and so on and so on.....doesnt matter what happened either way 42-37 is a loss....it was a great game and looking forward to the rematch......and i think the birds win by 2-3 tds.

I was wondering the same thing. Last season, after the loss to Ryle, the Birds went with a 4 or 5 man front for both Johnson Central and Harlan County, but both of those teams were overwhelming running teams. Of course, with Bir's passing ability, it will be more difficult to go with extra down linemen, unless you know you are going to get to him, or at least move him out of the pocket.

 

The Elder game may be telling in what may be the strategy for a possible rematch, as the Panthers tend to have larger O Lines than most that Highlands will see.

 

Highlands loss to Ryle was due to not adjusting the D at halftime, period end of sentence. The game plans for both JC and Harlan were outstanding and earned them another State Title which I have no doubt that Coach Weinrich will make the necessary adjustments the second go round if it even happens.

I have a sneaky suspicion that Highlands will fare much better against Elder with this defensive scheme then they did against CovCath. Just sayn...................:thumb:
