C'mon, the CovCath coaches had 4 chances to win from the 15. I thought Dale and his staff would be given more than a chance to improve 6 measley points.

 

I don't get your point. I agreed with you and you are acting like I said something different.

Coach Weinrich will fix the issues. I have complete trust in the staff. That being said the fundamentals and tackling needs to be addressed in the FTJFL look close to home for a better understanding of the post SWEEP.

Found out that time of possession was approximately 31 to 17.

Besides Grey's awsome running. CCH also was very effective with the screen pass. Their offense was balanced and the Birds have much to work on. Yet, it was Highland's D, gassed, as a quiet mad fan watched, who mustered two great second half defensive stands, that secured the win and the home field advantage. These are two great teams. I hope everyone gets healthy for what will be the most anticipated rematch in a long time.

Highlands won Sat. because they were the better team, by five points on that day. I just saw a film of the game and my initial reaction is that Highlands was the better team and CovCath was determined, relentless, and ............lucky. I will go back and look at the film again later in the week in detail, but I will say right now that yes CovCath got some breaks.

Niether team played a perfect game and both have things that they can improve upon for what I suspect will be a rematch in November.

For one, there was nothing for you to agree with me on since I just posed a question. You brag about how Highlands coaching staff is better yet you say they would have a chance to win if they were coaching CovCath. My point was heck, our coaches had a chance to win. I would have thought you would give them more than just a chance to win the game if they are so much better. CCH has been a 2nd half time all year. They wear people out. A key for them in the rematch will be for them to get the ball 1st and therefore Highlands will be chasing them vs the other way. I think that is huge.

Are you folks not getting the fact that these "breaks" had no determination in the outcome of the game! They did not capitalize on any of the fumbles! You could state the same case for HHS: CCH was intercepted, missed a chip-shot fieldgoal for our kicker, and couldn't find the right strategy to punch it in from the one. This stuff happens! Both teams did not play their best game.

That can go one way or the other in the psyche of a 17 year old. Yes they are disappointed they didn't blow CCH out,but they did win. So what if next game CCH gets up to a 2 score lead, are they going to start hanging their heads because they realize they will have to play for a full 4 quarters again? I'm just saying CCH has more confidence and enthusiasm then ever right now and it sounds like the Birds may be doubting themselves.

I really do not get that. I would say it would make them angry that it sounds like they could have won that they did not. Channeling that anger into working hard to get the rematch. Meanwhile how can Highlands be doubting themselves? They won didn't they? I think sometimes people mistake how BGP posters and fans feel vs how the coaches and players really view things.

I don't think they are happy but after they were drubbed the past couple years, especially the year Brossart was there, I'd say they have more confidence. Should be a great rematch if it happens which I fully expect.
