Cathedral was ranked 2 in 4A coming into this game with Evansville Reitz #1. Will be interesting to see how that pans out after tonight with Reitz currently down 22-13 to Castle with 2:00 left in the game.

Good test for T. Indy had played some very good teams tough and seemed to have found stride in the past two weeks. QB is tough and when he learns how to control his arm will be a very good one. A lot of passes sailed on him. Rocks D line had their work cut out for them and still held this very good team to something like 200 total yards. Was impressed with the overall sportsmanship of both teams/programs. With still more than a minute to go T went into victory formation and all was amicable. Great crowd and atmosphere.

As all football fans know , momentum is HUGE in big games . The second half opening kickoff return by James Quick , set the stage for the big victory. If I was Cathedrals coach , that kickoff goes out of bounds , and Quick wouldn't have touched it. After that great play ,I had a feeling it would turn out like it did .

Fans walking out said best team they've played in some time. Also said #17 for Trinity was best player they've seen.

An Irish fan said they were 3-2 coming into the game, having lost to Ben Davis and Warren Central each by 3 points. I was very impressed with their team. I noticed two excellent (and large) O-linemen, nos. 75 and 79. I would be surprised if they aren't D-1 material. No doubt Trinity was in a serious battle but the Rocks won the second half and thus the game. Didn't think T's QB had one of his better games but the Irish defense was very good, so I must temper my comments.

With California's nationally ranked #3 De La Salles losing by a few TD's to Florida's nationally ranked #2 St Thomas Aquinas I would say Trinity will continue to move up some more in the USA today polls.

Should have been 36-7. The second Cathedral TD was dropped, it was right in front of me. Oh well, win is a win and I'm happy going into Pride Week!

I don't know if an attendance was announced but the folks I was with were settling on 7,500. T stepped it up a notch in the second half.

7500 at $6 (general admission) a pop has the T administration figuring it was worthwhile to turn the lghts on, one would think.

It is clear that I have overestimated Trinity. They looked sluggish in the first half but clearly was the Trinity we all know and love in the second half.

 

The game against Moeller is going to be epic....it's a shame Moeller's Coach staff is full of clowns. Oh well.

GReat win -- way to go Rocks. Thought those "blow-out"predictions were a bit strong. Good quality team. Hope some of you all heard C. Glaser's comments tonight on his post game; talked about how T had "college and pro players" and he just had "high school kids." I know this doesnt have any place here - but can't help myself.

Nice tough game tonight. Cathedral had some problems catching the ball tonight. Was pretty impressed with #4 on their defense. Playing safety...heard he was headed to ND. Anyone know about him?

Cathedral was the beefiest team I've ever seen. Not just a couple... all the linemen. QB for them sailed a few and his WRs didn't do him any favors. #22 running for Irish was good. Cathedral punting was poor which helped sway the game. I agree with JSrocks that the fake field goal, TD pass just before half was a drop, not a catch. Still, whatever Beatty said at halftime really worked.

Dawkins or Quick alone was worth the price of admission. Dawkins had a 55yd TD run with only one shoe on - incredible. Two missed XPs by Trinity had me scratching my head. Overall an super second half and the quest continues...
