I work with a parent of a senior SK player. He vists this board from time to time. From what he tells me, he and others from SK, can't stand what uk#1 does in this forum, and find him to be quite embarrasing to their sons and the program.

 

To each his own. I side with the post that said some people may take him more serious than he takes himself. I think and have said before that there are quite a few people who need to lighten up.

Problem is, if I were to go all uk#1 fan about Highlands, EVERYONE on here would let me have it. Arrogant, braggart, elitist, and so on would come from all angles. Amd yes the Minister would be paying me a visit. So in that light, why do we allow another poster to conduct himself in the rather unfavorable fashion? Why would we tolerate him and not others?

Malachi, I think he is allowed to rant and spew because no one really takes him seriously. He is like the yappy little dog that constantly barks from the safety of his yard. Full of false bravado but has never been considered more than just an irritating ankle nipper.

His posts used to annoy the heck out of me, but I think it's obvious he's intentionally over-the-top in most of his comments. I find him fairly amusing and harmless for the most part and agree that anyone whose is upset by his remarks is taking them far more serious than he himself intends them to be.

uk#1fan does say "out there" stuff but I have to admit I get a kick out of him. I admire his passion for his team. I do think its funny that some on here knock him but in reality they act no different (with regards to passion for their team.) I also get a kick out of the people that say they ignore what he says but yet have posted 2/3 times in this thread. :lol::lol::lol: He loves to stir the pot so what!

I have to disagree if someone from Highlands was to say that this next group is better, faster smarter, better looking than the previous great Highlands team and were going to win every game they would not call him arrogant they would call him head coach. Difference is Highlands backs it up SK isn't right now

I would be embarassed if someone did that with Highlands. At the very least, he embarasses himself.

 

I like when he is wrong, which is very often, but it is impossible to have an intellegent conversation with him.

Same reason people hate UK basketball fans, Ohio State football fans, etc. but don't say a word about Texas A&M's football fans. Winning and talking is totally different IMO. I think its like being called fat. If you're skinny and someone calls you fat, no big deal. If you're a larger person and someone says the same thing, you may get your feelings hurt. JMO.
