I will say this and leave it alone....according to the article by Rivals.com, Trinity has something called a "Media Liason". Really?

 

Wow the Trinity bashing has hit an all time low when someone who has volunteered his time and efforts for several years is held up as an example of how unfair it is to be Trinity. I know the person that spouted this gem isn't even from Kentucky but maybe just maybe if the public schools could do something to make an alumni WANT to donate his time and services in this capacity the "unfair" advantages would disappear.

I totally agree. Stats turns out phenomenal work because he loves to do it and wants to get a job in a college athletic department as soon as possible. He has a Masters from EKU in Sports Administration and has been providing information on Trinity programs since he was a freshman there about 10 years ago. I'll never forget a T-X football game several years back where he turned out an approximate 150 page package of game notes and Tony Cruise was talking about it on his show and couldn't get over the knowledge and depth that was included. Stats could walk into a D-3 athletic department right now and just take over.

 

By the way, he's never been paid a red cent for doing all of this.

 

Just another example of the Trinity family and how much alumni give back to the school.

I guess I missed the bashing of Mr. Sampson.

He kind of reminds me of all the things that Tom Potter used to do at NewCath w/out compensation.

 

Back to the thread, if Trinity runs the table this year, next year we will have a chance to see the first national champ from KY in, maybe, forever. That's would be tremendous for the whole state, regardless of where you fall on the private/public sob fest.

And why is that? I know Manual fans with a comparable depth of knowledge about their program who volunteer similarly. I don't know if the Highlands faithful volunteer, but there are tons of them with that depth of knowledge. Why is Stats considered a luxury? He's phenomenal in both breadth and depth of knowledge and dedication to his alma mater. But it's not like other schools couldn't possibly have someone step up to the plate.

Step back and relax. I guarantee you he was having fun with the title. How many high schools have a "media liason?" Most of the time it's a manager or coach. T rolls out a cool title. No harm unless one is seeking harm.

 

The reactions , though, do speak to the popularity of the kid who holds this regal title. Speaks well of him.

Private schools like CCH do not have to take kids simply based on where they live. Conner does. Ryle does. The publics will never be playing by the same rules as privates even if every one of them opens their doors to outsiders. You can't change the basic foundation of the public education system.

 

This is a non-factor, if a kid is a problem for the football team I am certain the coaching staff has the ability to suspend/exclude him from the football team so this argument doesn't hold water.
