Thats why I put Newport 2nd also. By looking at the scores of the playoff games it did look like our guys played you guys the toughest.

It's hard to judge by comparing scores, but seeing all of the teams mentioned either live or on tape, Newport was the best among the ones we played, IMO. I also felt Ft. Campbell was a better team than O-Cath just had some things go against them that they were unable to overcome.

Newport and The Aces both spread the field, I just felt like the Wildcats did a better job of it and gave us more trouble than did O-Cath. Maybe your coach should start selling his offense...:D

For those scoring at home, I believe that makes it East Kentucky 3 - Tony Franklin 0 the last three years.

If anyone would have played Russell tougher than Newport did then they would have beat them. You cant play Russell and tougher then Newport did and still lose.

Its just an offense that works well with the horses he had. When you have good athletes at the skill positions you need to spread them out and let them use there ability.

Plus its the offense that UK ran while Hal Mumme was there cuz the O coordinator was a player while he was there from what im told.

There are those who are saying that X is still a better team. I strongly disagree, and this is why.

As as team, you are only as good as the last game you played. You improve on a game by game basis. You make adjustments as each game comes, and correct mistakes to make your team the best it can be for the playoffs. Im not saying at all that St. X wasn't improving, I just think the Rocks improved at a greater pace than St. X did this year. The BEST team every year is the team that plays thier best game last. And Trinity played that game against X.

I want to go a bit further with this as we certainly were more dominant in the playoffs. I know X's road was more tough than ours....but we were still hitting at a high level, and at the right time. AS far as who is #1? It is truly not a big deal, I will say this...we have won 5 of the last 8 games against X, been to 5 of the last 6 state championships, and won 4 of them....we are well on our way to being TEAM OF THE DECADE.

I don't understand how cov. cath. could be rated higher than Highlands. I understand that they put up a great game against Lex. Cath. but Highlands beat cov. cath. a couple of weeks before that...
