It wont matter who starts this year considering the style of play. Expectations will be to haveeach kid that enters the game have his tongue dragging after 2-3 min. He should see a lot of minutes along with 8-9 other kids.

A couple possibly, Jensen and Harret. Here is who I know they have going. Lewis 6'1, Witte 6'1, Carter 6', Hinkel 5'8, Gronotte 6'2, Shephard 5'11, Reuhl, Buten 5'5 and then the two Frosh. I may be leaving someone out in the soph class but Lewis is the only Sr, the rest JRs and Sophs.

 

When football commences I would expect to see these guys suit up.

The senior is not going from what I understand because of a family commitment. I was referring to Justin Weyer and not Ben Weyer. Well aware that he is an 8th grader.

None of the Frosh will be playing Varsity this year its pretty much due to lack of bodies.

The Birds travel to Somerset on Wed morning for a scrimmage. Saturday is the TurkeyBird shootout featuring several NKY teams.

Should be Good experience for the Frosh guards as they will face a couple of the best guards in the state. In the first game vs South Laurel they will get a dose of Jr PG Blake Sanders. The kid is very strong and can stroke it. In the 2nd game vs Somerset they will see sharpshooting 3pt specialist in sophomor Ryan Dishman. Great opportunity for them to gain some nice minutes.

Just finished watching Highlands play S. Laurel and Somerset. When the football player start playing Highlands should be a pretty solid team. I like the pressure defense and uptempo style they play.

I thought Dishman was at Southwestern? I know je was in middle school system at Somerset. Any insight on why the switch?

bylaw 25, sec 3 says that teams are allowed 2 scrimmage games against outside opponents. I think Holmes and Walton also play more than 2 scrimmages.

You are correct. Only two scrimmages allowed.

Since they were played same day and same place, this might be reduced as "one" scrimmage. Kinda like they do tournaments. I'm not positive though. I would assume the powers that be at Highlands (or any school for that matter) would know what they were doing when scheduling scrimmages and games.
