hoopsr1
That's pretty steep for a comment toward the ref. Thoughts?
halfback20
He screwed up, but this should be the end of it. He will pay his fine, apologize and move on. And $100k is nothing to him.
CatsCatsCats
Its 100K for the league to a stance against a politically uncorrect statement Kobe made. It had to be done, and I doubt Kobe is sweating it.

HammerTime
^ Last night after he got a T. He was really upset about the game obviously.
PurplePride92
With all of the tv cameras present at every game I am surprised there aren't more fines daily.
RockPride
^ I agree......that said, I don't like Kobe, but, a lot of folks use that term too loosely. Kobe is my age, my peers throw that word around way too freely. He'll pay the fine, apologize, and we'll all move on. These athletes that are in the forefront of everyone's eyes have to learn they are always on stage. Like it or not, they are who our youth look up to. I hate it, but it's a fact. But, I sure feel like it would be tough to go through a whole game without saying something inappropriate and I consider myself a pretty good guy lol. jvdfc
Would the fine be different if it was any other player, or would everybody still write this off as not much of anything if it was any other NBA player? I don't know, just asking.
Hip-Hop Box
Kobe bought his Wife a 4 million dollar Ring...Whats 100,000 to him. He may have had that in the locker room.
bugatti
I do not care how much Kobe has, $100,000 is a lot of money.
5wide
100K is a ridiculous amount for the crime. But, he'll pay it whether he wants to or not.
formerkywrestler
Here is what is ridiculous about this. I commonly hear and see NBA players using words that many would find offensive (the "n" word being an extremely common example). The NBA is just trying to look progressive on the issue and it reeks of phoniness.
