January 11, 201115 yr In the battle to see who the worst owner is the Bengals and Raiders are the only two teams in the NFL not to draft a pro bowler in the last 7 years. If that is true... Wow, nice stat.
January 11, 201115 yr If that is true... Wow, nice stat. Joe Reedy said that today. I know the Bengals haven't.
January 11, 201115 yr Absolutely, the LT position needs to be manned by an athlete; Whitworth is a Guard, not an athlete; NFL teams draft rookies to play LT all the time; Suggs made Whitworth look silly and those were on runs beating him at the snap, more than once. If the Bengals draft a OT in the 1st(after trading down as the only way to get a T in the 1st) or in the 2nd, he will be a better OT than Whitworth. He made him look silly on a few runs, and he also shut him down when it came to passing. Suggs makes most tackles look bad at some points in a game, so you have to high of expectatins if you think a tackle won't look silly at some points. The Bengals have many more problems along the line than Whitworth. However if you want to move people around, then move Smith to RG, Whitworth to RT because he would make a perfect RT IMO, and then Collins to LT if you want an athletic LT there. Collins has not looked bad at allw hen he has played, and might be another case of the coaching staff not giving a young talented player much of a chance to play early.

Whitworth is in Carson's face and legs way too much to be a left tackle; watch how much space Brady has this week in front of him; it is ridiculous; you and I could complete some passes with their o-line. I would be happy with Collins-LT, Whit-RT, and Smith RG; they still need an upgrade at LG; Cook I'm unsure about; Bobbie's still under contract-will they supplant him? I am not sold on Alexander as their coach as well...
January 18, 201115 yr The offensive line talk gives me another opportunity to call for the firing of Paul Alexander. Everyone talks about Brat but if I had one coach I would want fired on the Bengals it would be Alexander. How long has he been there now - ten years? How many better than average lines have the Bengals had in the time he has been there? The biggest problem for the Bengals offense this year was offensive line. It is almost always a problem for the Bengals. This year they could not run block so that took away our bread and butter from 2009. The Bengals offensive line was dead last in the NFL this season in yards per carry for their backs. People complained about them not running it more but how can you run the ball when your line totally sucks at run blocking? And guess what ... the Bengals were actually right in the middle of the league in rushing attempts. The Bengals had 8 rushing TD's this year. Wow. That is just horrible. Maybe they should have run it less? Our ten year+ line coach has really done a heck of a job, hasn't he? Everyone, stop complaining about Brat and start complaining about Alexander. Alexander must go.

January 19, 201115 yr I still say they need a two back set with a FB Agreed. It would help with protecting Palmer and make the play action better too. I think Bernard Scott should have 40+ catches too.
January 19, 201115 yr I still say they need a two back set with a FB They have already done this late in the year with Pressley and they liked what it brought them... I like a 5'11 260 lb. FB that is a hammer also, especially for Benson.

January 19, 201115 yr Mikey isn't getting rid of nobody. I have said for a while there is no accountability on this team. I agree Mikey won't get rid of anyone but that doesn't keep fans from railing on Brat. I would like to see Alexander getting some of that heat.
January 20, 201115 yr Mikey isn't getting rid of nobody. I have said for a while there is no accountability on this team. If they do, they can't until after the Senior Bowl because they are coaching it, so just because nothing has happened yet doesn't mean it won't...
January 20, 201115 yr If they do, they can't until after the Senior Bowl because they are coaching it, so just because nothing has happened yet doesn't mean it won't... Mike Brown--"We need to stay the course"...........Translated--It's cheaper to do so, and we've got the "loser's schedule" next year, so we can fool the sheep into buying tickets again!!
