January 7, 201115 yr Just of the top of my head, here's some off season moves I expect the new "Mike-Marv" love connection to make: Let Benson go--He's proven too competitive and competent to be a Bengal. Keep Palmer--What other option do they have? MB is too cheap to let him go, and has purged any other potential options at QB. Let Ocho go--MB's proven time and again too incompetent to work an effective trade. Let TO go--Why not, he was arguably their best offensive player this year? Lose Joseph--Mike-Marv will find a way to lose maybe their best player. Resign (that's re-employ) Odom, Tank, Rucker, and any other proven loser on either line who's a free agent--It's the Bengal way--Award under achievement!! Find a way to promote Coach Brat because if Marv deserves to return after the turnaround he just engineered, why doesn't Brat deserve better too? Fire or allow Zimmer to leave--His "D" is starting to show too much potential to be "near average" for him to remain in Bengal-land. Doesn't fit Mike-Marv's master plan. Trade Whitworth for two more Golden Corral rejects like Andre Smith. ****Name Andre Smith a Captain for his outstanding "effort' the past two seasons! Anyone who can excel at the buffet line like Andre vs. on the field, exemplifies "Bengaldom"!! Edited January 7, 201115 yr by StickerMann
January 7, 201115 yr Sign Kitna to back up Carson. Resign Cedric Draft a LT in 2nd RD (none worthy in 1st) & move Whit to LG Move Smith to RG & Collins to RT Resign Kelly to league minimum to go with Gresham & Coffman Let Chad & TO go; go with Simpson, Caldwell, Shipley, Cosby, and draft one in 3rd-5th Draft Bowers or Fairley to play RE opposite Dunlap Let Tank, Odom, & Rucker go Resign Fanene to league minimum Move M. Johnson to Sam and Rey to middle Resign Brandon Johnson Resign Dhani to league minimum Resign Joseph Let Roy, Ndukwe go #1 Free Agent Priority- a Safety (don't know if any are available that are worthy) Draft a Safety as high as 3rd RD (if one worthy) Keep Geathers?
January 7, 201115 yr If Marvin left I was figuring they would just promote Zimmer, so I was hoping they would have went after a guy like Singletary. I think he would have really helped out the young linebackers on this team. On a side note, if they keep Brat I doubt I will be going to any games next year. Hopefully they do not go WR. There are always quality wideouts in free agency and after the first round of the draft. They should just focus on the running game. I would love Ingram to fall to the second round haha. But they should use two tight end sets more with Coffman and Gresham. They could run or pass out of that formation easily. Peterson or trading out of the fourth spot looks like the best bet. I don't really like this number four spot. I see a lot more value in having more late first, early second round picks. Pick up some O-line, Ingram, maybe a safety, or definitely a corner if JJ leaves. I am comfortable with the linebackers being Rivers, Rey, and Brandon Johnson.
January 7, 201115 yr Willie Anderson tweeted that all coaches will be kept except the LB's coach. WHY????? Haha it confuses me. Maybe Singletary as LB coach!! That would be amazing.
January 7, 201115 yr He's amazing: http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20110107/NEWS0108/301070050/1196/NEWS/Bengals-want-more-concessions
January 8, 201115 yr He is the best lineman we have right now, and you want to move him? Not to mention you want to trust a guy with no experience to protect Palmer against top pass rushers in just our own division we will see 4 times a year? Absolutely, the LT position needs to be manned by an athlete; Whitworth is a Guard, not an athlete; NFL teams draft rookies to play LT all the time; Suggs made Whitworth look silly and those were on runs beating him at the snap, more than once. If the Bengals draft a OT in the 1st(after trading down as the only way to get a T in the 1st) or in the 2nd, he will be a better OT than Whitworth.
January 8, 201115 yr Keep Geathers? Only as a backup; if they draft a capable DE, let him go. I agree he has been a huge disappointment, but they have to have some depth and I figure he is more capable than an oft-injured Odom and Rucker.

January 8, 201115 yr How many sacks did Whit give up this season? I think I saw it was 2. Which is pretty impressive considering who he goes up against.
January 8, 201115 yr Pretty sure they showed that last week and it said 2. I could be mistaken though. I tried to look it up and can't find it.
January 8, 201115 yr I think I saw it was 2. Which is pretty impressive considering who he goes up against. There is so much more to protecting a QB than just not giving up a sack; he is constantly driven back in Carson's face or at Carson's feet; like I said earlier, Suggs made him look REALLY BAD and those were on run plays; he ABSOLUTELY is NOT athletic enough to play LT in the NFL; HE IS A GUARD; until that position is upgraded, the OL will be mediocre at best.
January 8, 201115 yr He's terrible... That certainly is not accurate either, and I completely believe he is a guard.
