Bengals Offseason Thread

Featured Replies

I don't think the Bengals would be in the running for Vick and I would imagine Phily would franchise him if they couldn't sign him.

He would seem to be the "perfect Bengal"--Questionable character, ex-felon, often injured, inconsistent; only problem is he's probably not going to be cheap??

Obvious our extremely wise GM was "pointing" to this year for his big run to the Super Bowl. Can't wait to see the off-season moves the genius makes? Hopefully Marvin does the honorable thing for himself and resigns (really resigns of his own accord); and then speaks his piece on the insane "management" of this team.

Signed,

Doubtful, but hopeful.

If they take a WR in the first round they deserve to continue losing. I know one FA RB I'd love to see in Cincy, one Michael Bush.

Joseph, Benson, Ndukwe, Leonard, maybe Brandon Johnson bring back. Probably let Chad go, let Geathers go, let Odom go, take that money and sign a solid lineman and a #2 receiver for depth. Probably go ahead and draft a DE. Also, think they have to get a tough nosed coach in there.

One "big" task this off season is to get Fat Boy Andre Smith under the weight limit and healthy and teach him how to play right guard. He's killing this team. Find a new Offensive Coordinator. Sign the best right tackle in the draft before training camp.

Smith won't play RG. I could be mistaken, but I think the Bengals can opt out of his contract this offseason.

Send him off as well--I hear Golden Corral has some openings!!

I agree...But I don't think any good free agent Qbs will come to Bengal country...

Very likely true.

I agree with both of your statements.

Michael Bush would be a great addition. The Raiders would like to keep Bush to have a great dual threat backfield, imo. Bush is a big explosive back, but has durability issues

Hopefully Al loses a few more marbles and decides he can replace Bush.

This should be a pretty interesting off-season.

I hope we get a fire-ball type coach. While I don't really like the Jets, I think a Rex Ryan type attitude would be a good thing for this team.

Who knows?

Many forget that Bush was slated to be the starter this season before getting hurt preseason. Then McFadden - who has durability issues of his own - turned in a great season.

Has he said he would not play RG, or do you just don't think the Bengals will try him there? I have seen nothing from him to make me think he will be a good tackle in the NFL. However other big offensive lineman like him who were taken in the top 10 in the draft, have struggled at Tackle and then have became great as guards. Leonard Davis, and Robert Gallary are two of those guys. Both were studs at tackly coming out of college, and was suppose to be great tackles, but they were horrible in the NFL at tackle. I think guard would be a place Smith would become pretty good at.

I would switch him to DT and let him be a space eater.
