Not really ... they exploit the numbers advantage much as they've exploited the talents of such guys as Leon Smith, the Brohms, Jordan Whiting, etc.

 

2) If Trinity (specifically) enjoys their "exploitation" of the system, why do they seek opponents such as Cincy X, Elder, etc for OOD competition? It's not like Trinity is looking fro the Little Sisters of the Poor to play. They're seeking the best. Part of it has to do with the fact that in-state schools won't play them, or the schedules can't be meshed. But even so, one would think Trinity could find easier competition than the Bombers, et. al.

Trinity plays those teams because they have to, because they haven't been able to find other teams in Kentucky (or even elsewhere, perhaps) willing to play them. They've even called programs down this way that wouldn't be competitive with them in an effort to simply fill out the schedule.

Why should Highlands play in the same class as Trinity and St. Xavier, with about 30 percent of the numbers to draw from that those schools have?

Qualify that statement. They are an averaged sized school, but they can take any student they want that is willing to pay tuition. That is not the case at many public schools.

 

Those are decisions made by the public schools themselves, which is very foolish.

You have to provide everyone with a free and public education. This limits district's ability to have tuition students if they are already too crowded. It also limits the ability of open enrollment. In these cases, there is no other decision to be made.

The last time I checked, there are many people that can't live where they want. Its called income and property value.

Really? You might want to check some areas again. Not everyone can afford a 100K home. Not everyone can afford 600 plus a month rent. This statement is fairly outlandish.
