The topic of this thread is not how impressive Highlands is or is not, it is "how many titles would they have in the great football state of OH in their appropriate classes".

 

We all know how many of you here on Bluegrasspreps.com thinks how impressive Highlands football is, but that is not the topic of every thread.:irked:

Playing the we're small, we play up in class card constantly gets old. If you were really the best, you wouldn't have to proclaim it to the world ad naseum.

 

That is the only card that I have been dealt . I would have played the , we have 1500 boys to choose from card , but it seems to be missing from my deck of cards !

 

I'll say it one more time , both H and T have great programs .

 

Highlands state titles are more impressive because the compition in 5A ,has more parity than 6A ! HHS has played the Easterns and Dupont Manuals of Louisville and have done very well against them. HHS has to beat more quality teams besides Cov-CATH to win state. Where T has no competion , other than X , to win state ! (It's not T's fault that 6A is the most non competitive class in KY by far ! )

HHS would have more playing in DIII than Trinity would playing DI...

Agreed Raiderbird. You combine those two teams and you have a team that would not lose a game Period.

You are correct! Now lets play some football. HHS wins 20n10 as will Trinity.

Back to the thread topic...........I believe Highlands would have never won a championship in Ohio, maybe one at the most. I believe Trinity would be a dominant force especially in recent history so I will say ten.

 

Highlands plays mediocre competition in their class in Kentucky, thus the 19 soon to be 20 championships. Trinity has played the best competion available in Kentucky due to their classification and is so dominant and progressive under Coach Beatty, they would have faired well in Ohio.

 

Like an earlier poster said, teams would be in different classifications due to the huge disparity in enrollment. If Highlands played in Ohio, again Highlands wouldn't be in division 1 therefore would not necessarily have to play the best teams in Ohio every year. I dont get your point in comparing the competition.

 

Moreover, Trinity would be playing more schools that are more around their enrollment in Ohio, whereas Highlands would just have to win a state championship over more schools that are already the size they have been playing.

That's rich.

Lets recap... I started by talking about how 1 good player could make a basketball team and have an immediate impact which is different from football. I used an analogy of UK basketball immediately improving by a lot with 1 recruiting class. You, a Louisville fan, took a shot at UK by saying something about an elite 8 not being impressive, so I added to my previous comment. UK lost to Louisville (rival) and didn't make the tournament 1 year, then with a coaching change and one of the best recruiting classes of all time (NBA talent-wise), UK beat Louisville (rival) and not only made the tournament, but made it to the elite 8 which is a drastic improvement from the previous year. You tried to take a stab at UK, so I took a stab at Louisville, You tried to make fun of UK for only making the elite 8 with all that talent, I made fun of Louisville for still losing to UK despite not impressing you by only making it to the elite 8. I think that is pretty darn clear. I know you are a Louisville fan by your "location".

My squad cut down the nets last season....most on here are aware of that.

However, if you put them against tough competition in their class year end and year out, I do not feel they would fair so well in their class in Ohio.

Kind of like the Boise thing, if they had to do it, 6-7 times a season, it would probably run them ragged as well.

Man your a funny guy:laugh: If you lay it all out on the table what HHS does year in and year out is much more impressive than what Trinity does. I don't even think it is close..Don't get me wrong Trinity is a great program, but not better than HHS..JMO

That's fine but you are still getting away from the topic and the point I made. I just assumed that you were a Louisville fan based on the location listed in your profile.

What is awesome is when the "D-3" school beats the "BCS champ". With the advantage that the "BCS champ" has on the "d-3 school" it must be either quite embarrassing when the "BCS champ" loses, or quite impressive when the "d-3 school" wins. I mean a d-3 school should never ever beat a BCS champ... right?
