Highlands would do very well in there class, so would Beechwood and NCC. People don't understand how small these Schools are.

Playing the we're small, we play up in class card constantly gets old. If you were really the best, you wouldn't have to proclaim it to the world ad naseum.

I don't think the Highlands' fans are saying they are better than Trinity. In fact, most of them believe Trinity is better than HHS just about every year. I believe their only contention is that their state titles are more "impressive" because they have an enrollment disadvantage on just about every school in their class. Akin to a 152 pound wrestler winning the 171 pound title; it doesn't mean he can beat the heavyweight title holder, only that he beat people bigger than him.

 

In fairness to Trinity, Trinity won many, many state titles before its enrollment grew to current levels.

Wrong- far and away they are the best 2 programs KY has to offer and they do it the right way- if they continue to play OH's best they will be even better- Highlands even steps up and plays the "big boys" from OH which is saying something!!

Until other schools start taking steps to improve, these 2 are almost never going to get beat.

I have all the respect in the world for Trinity and obviously they are one of the best. But if you look at the enrollment of the above mentioned schools, the only one in their league is St. X. Trinity's enrollment if you factor in just boys is well over 1,000 more kids than Male, Manual, etc. That is more students than Highlands has in their school. So when you compare who has done more with what they have, I think Highlands has. As someone mentioned, Trinity did have many titles before their enrollment ballooned and I believe overall, Trinity has a better team. There have been many years when Highlands would have won the 6a title, but I think Highlands has done more with their program. Now if Trinity splits their team in half and then wins 6a every year, I would be extremely impressed.

 

On a side note, I work with a guy who graduated from Permian High School in Texas (Friday Night Lights) and he told me his graduating class had almost 1,500 students. That is amazing.

A lame attempt to discredit two fine institutions. I guess when you can't beat them, bash them. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

 

I don't believe that any bashing is going on, but it is reality. Highlands and Trinity have both put out excellent teams over the years and could have definitely gotten a few titles in OH, which states a lot. I think that everyone knows that OH is much better and competitive overall as a state.

I've also already heard that Elder and Cincy X want nothing to do with Trinity the next two years because they were so young this year and performed so well against the Ohio "big boy

 

Sad, not sure the reasoning per se, but it is true. They both have declined to play us next year, even when we offered to come there.

SO what you're saying is, we are more impressive because we play bigger schools than us. But that discredits how good you think your team is, if you're the cat's meow, play all the way up.
