Answer: Male doesn't have the horses to compete with Trinity this year. Not to take away from their effort, but they won't be good enough up front.

You don't make it to the finals without being very good. Trinity is the obvious favorite, but there are a few trophies on display at Trinity where another team was an even more "obvious favorite" than Trinity is this year. I'm thinking of 94, 05 and 08. To win Trinity just needs to maintain focus and keep doing the things that got them to the cchampionship game. For Male to win, they need to focus on the things that got them to the championship - and have a little luck. My pick is Trinity by a couple of touchdowns, but don't count Male out of this.

The Rocks will win #20-#21-#22 State Championships and then Coach Beatty will ride off into the sunlight. Here is a vote for the new coach in 2013 "Coach Coverdale".

He did and it did not go well. He found out it's tough to win when you don't have the best players every game.

I would venture to guess that the majority of those that vote for the BGP poll have never seen Henderson play.

 

I didn't go to the game, I listened to it on the radio. I was in the middle of moving and couldn't make it.

i understand that the title games will be shown delayed by iHigh. Does anyone know the schedule for insight in Louisvile?

Male will get our total respect and preparation as has every other opponent we meet. They obviously did not make it to the Finals by luck.

Trinity is heavily favored but what about the Bowling Green Curse over the Shamrocks?

* Case in Point- September 24, 2010 Travis Wright is ill and Jackson Noe couldn't get the high powered offense going as T QBs go 11-24 for about 100 yards and 2 INTs and eek out a 14-12 win over the Purples of Bowling Green.

* December 5, 2009- St X wins state championship at first meeting at Bowling Green 34-10.

* 2008- Trinity survives wind and rain to beat Bowling Green in a late night- ( i might have this year wrong)

* Add to it the September 5th, game in 2005 against Montgomery Bell just an hour south of Bowling Green in a 17-13 LOSS and it seems like Trinity doesn't travel well down south, especially in Warren County.

What is waiting for Trinity this trip down Interstate 65? I think a bunch of Male fans and adopted Male fans. ( Highlands plays the game before )

Will more than Marshall Stadium's capacity ( 7K) show up in Bowling Green on Saturday? Based on post #34 and #41, I think not.

 

I have said it before-watch out for Male. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Remember that a bunch of the Male kids played in the state championship in baseball in June so they are not intimidated by the championship run.

J-Ref----Thanks for the history lesson but what you have cited, in my opinion, does not constitute a curse no mateer how you spin it. Whether a curse or not, I hope the Rocks can prevail. Everyone is talking about Male's speed but I think the best thing they have going for them is their coach. I think he will approach the game the right way so that Male can maximize their potential for the game. T better be ready. Remember who knocked T out of the 7th Region basketball tourney last spring over at Bellarmine? H is a formidable foe.
