Towles was outstanding tonight. No signs of any slowing up. Actually he was as elusive as ever. If he was slated as being hurt I would hate to see him in a healthly state. Great poise, determination and effort tonight from the Dirty Birds D. This game was NOT close as someone earlier said dont let the score fool you. HC was not going to score on Highlands. The lone score actually came after Highlands #5 left the game for 3 plays and wham!! HC takes advantage and scores on a long ball. This is a defensive unit that has carried this team all yr when the going has gotten tough. Go Birds 20n10

What number of the 19 so far were you ?

I have to disagree with you, to some extent. The game was very much in question until the Birds started to get some breathing room in the third quarter. Up to that time, the Birds were making some errors and being stopped enough to keep Harlan in the game. Harlan pushed their way down the field more than once, and had a couple real close calls in the HHS redzone. However, as always, the Birds wore the opponent down in the long run and took them out of their game.

 

We will just have to agree to disagree. HC was just not a threat imo. A very formidable opponent and a lot of respect for them, but unless you were there, the confidence in the D was not going to be broken. They have had teams in their red zone all yr in many, many games and have not broken. Mediocre teams dont just do this by accident. LOL, JMO. Go Birds 20n10

I was part of Number 8. Thanks for asking. A bunch of yrs ago. Lets see though, I was 18 when I played and my son is a Sr on perhaps #20. My Highlands math make me 30 yrs old. LOL,

Congrats to the Birds. I was hoping for 4 NKY teams in BG this year but I guess we will settle for 2 Champs up here. As for anyone who counted HHS out after losing to Ryle, well you know!

Home fans were leaving in droves to start the 4th. The Black Bears played their hearts out, but in no way, ever threatened in this game. The outcome was never in question in the second half. Congrats to the the Bears on a great season.
