You mean the same way Walker continually "undressed" any UK guard that tried to defend him last night?

Exactly like that. As competitive as he is, I would think what happened against UK last year motivated him a little at least.

I failed to mention our lacking on inside/post defense. U.K., when faced playing someone with a dominate big man/inside game is going to be hurting. U.K. cannot sit back and wait on Kanter to be ruled eligible bc imo that is just not going to happen. I hope it does and that would be great but the inside/post defense is going to have to be addressed regardless.

What do you propose they do? Trade for a big man? Send Harrelson and Vargas to a genetics research lab? The Kanter decision being overturned is the only possibility of changing the post situation.

Speaking of Vargas, at least one guy on the team can shoot FT's.

How about Bilas saying the Kanter decision was a joke? That was interesting to say the least and I totally agree. If they have Kanter last night its a different game, no 21-2 run putting the game out of reach. Credit the UConn players for answering though each time the Cats would cut the lead down.

Knight needs to understand that he will have a guy dogging him all over the court in college and this aint HS anymore. However, he does have an outstanding jumper and can score in traffic. He just needs to learn what an assist is and then he will be fine. Cal was right in saying it was like an AAU game out there. No defense and bunch of guys standing around watching one person take the ball to the hole.

Uk is nothing but...... Overrated! They can't play with a Big East team. Just like most of the nation. Sure they will win there conference. Get a 2 or 3 seed. Play a Big East team in the second or third round and get beat. Just like Huggins did them last year!

I'm actually worried about this team. Jones is a stud and has all the talent in the world but I'm not sold on anyone else yet including Knight. Knight makes some horrible decisions with the ball, and really does not have good shot selection. I'm convinced the Cats have the two worst Centers in all of college basketball. Harrellson had 13 rebounds the other night, but he would have had 30 had he held on to the misses that hit him in the head or face, or he dropped out of bounds. He and Vargas couldn't challenge a shot by me on the drive to the basket and I'm 5'9". Has anyone on this team ever heard of stopping for a mid-range jumpshot rather than taking it in and getting their layup blocked into the stands?

Please NCAA, Free Enes.

Which is why the BEast hasn't had a champ since realignment.

Or perhaps just like Cal did Calhoun last year...........gimme a break. You're just a hater who wandered in the wrong thread.

I'm not a kool-aid drinker but it seems to me that UK beat UConn and UL last year. So I guess they CAN beat some Big East teams.

And will beat ND and Louisville this year.

For the record the Big East is a great conference but they have been represented once in the finals in the past decade which ties them with CUSA. When you have a confernce with a zillion teams some of them are bound to be good.

I don't think UK or UL fans need to be overly concerned about making Final Four reservations this year. Note to Calipari: It IS acceptable to work on transition defense in practice.

You just lost all credibility, if you had any.

I don't see any need to be worried about this UK team. They're going to be a pretty good team and they'll be fun to watch. For the most part, I've been impressed with them through 5 games and I expect them to improve quite a bit over the next few months.

Kemba Walker was the reason UCONN won this game. Oriaki is the reason they won by 17 IMO. This is what the USCJr. game would have looked like last year if Devan Downey had a scoring big man to work with.

UCONN is just better at this point in the season, and much of UK's weaknesses got exposed. Transition defense has been horrid for 100% of this young season. Cal has several good days with the team, including a home game vs. Boston, before traveling to UNC.

Obviously, Brandon Knight has to come into his own as a point guard--must be able to run the team. Doesn't mean he has to abandon his scorer's mentality, but running the team has to be his top priority. Unlike his point guard predecessor, Knight doesn't have the quality bigs to drop the ball off to when penetrating. Since the game was out of hand throughout the second half, I wonder if Cal should have sat Knight for an extended period to let him observe & learn what's happening on the court; and maybe even observe and learn from Kemba Walker.

Young teams produce stinker games every once in a while and that was one. Problem is the stinker games usually comes on the biggest stages like the NCAA game last year and the finals this year in Maui. UCONN attacked the basket aggressively and seemed to get alot of fouls called on UK. I believe we need to go to Vargas a little more. He looked impressive. I agree with an above post. I don't see how Coach Cal would let them close the half on a 21-2 run with Jones on the bench. That was the game.

I think Jones in the game would have not made a difference. UK was beat in every facet of the game during that stretch.
