November 26, 201015 yr How about Bilas saying the Kanter decision was a joke? That was interesting to say the least and I totally agree. If they have Kanter last night its a different game, no 21-2 run putting the game out of reach. Credit the UConn players for answering though each time the Cats would cut the lead down. Knight needs to understand that he will have a guy dogging him all over the court in college and this aint HS anymore. However, he does have an outstanding jumper and can score in traffic. He just needs to learn what an assist is and then he will be fine. Cal was right in saying it was like an AAU game out there. No defense and bunch of guys standing around watching one person take the ball to the hole. Yeah but he recruits true AAU studs, they don't normally play D they can't pick up fouls. Give it till conference play for them to adjust.
November 26, 201015 yr The glaring hole in the paint will be something this team will have to live with. The defense must get better since they don't have those shot blockers in the middle. I thought Cal should have put Jones back on the floor once the UConn lead reached double digits in the first half. Knight needs to work on that jumper, he has a quick release, sometimes to quick. Jones is a flat out stud and is very unselfish.
November 26, 201015 yr I think this lil group will be just fine, they just ran into a buzzsaw. I don't know that any team not named DUKE could have beatin UCONN last night the way they played. Walker is a complete madman, he is scary good. This may be a good loss, it certainly showed a lot of things we need to work on.
November 26, 201015 yr I don't think UK or UL fans need to be overly concerned about making Final Four reservations this year. Note to Calipari: It IS acceptable to work on transition defense in practice. And free throws.
November 26, 201015 yr I think Jones in the game would have not made a difference. UK was beat in every facet of the game during that stretch. Other than the period of time he sat on the bench, the game was basically even. You may be right, but it's pretty easy to justify the belief that he would have made a difference. UK becomes much easier to attack and defend with him on the bench. We had Harrelson and Vargas in the game together after he went to the bench. And, there's no way to determine the psychological effect on both times...UK loses the one guy who was playing really well and their best player. UConn obviously knows that this is an opportunity to open the spread. JMO
November 26, 201015 yr I've said all pre season and i'll say it again no depth and no Kanter we will be lucky to place second in the SEC and get to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCCA Tourney! I love my CATS but leaning on diaper dandys always bites you! Also, when will Miller step up and be a leader instead of hanging around the wing like Prince and then turn on in the NBA! Go Big Blue!

Go Big Blue! 1. We all know your thoughts on the situation 2. Tayshaun Prince was a star at UK. Not really sure how he 'turned it on in the NBA'
November 26, 201015 yr Prince remember the Pistons Championship and the rest is my opinion and they're like noses everybody got one! Go Big Blue!

November 27, 201015 yr This thread is spiraling out of control, just like every other thread on BGP. Anyways, I hope people realize this team is going to lose other games. This team is our team this year, last years team is gone. We lack an effective inside presence, and that will kill us in some games this year. Varagas has athletic superiority over Jorts and should play more he just needs that killer instinct. I think this team does look like an AAU team at times, and they lack a brotherhood mentality. They will need to come together and bear down. As for Knight, my only knock on him is that he, as the floor general of this team needs to take control and bring them together. He also needs to make better decisions (shot selection, passing, etc.). Nonetheless they will be fine its only November, I look for them to "Bounce Back". Lol not taht funny, I know.
November 28, 201015 yr Miller was KY Mr. Basketball he needs to step up and if you'll remember our number one seed we had with Tubby and got beat out in the Sweet Sixteen Prince just existed that night that's what im eluding too! Prince a great at UK but when you come to UK you must show up 100% at all times not slamming anyone we must grow up quick and be aggressive on both ends of the court! Go Big Blue!

So was Brandon Stockton... I'll put it this way...If this UK team is counting on Darius Miller to step up and be a star, they won't make it past the first weekend in the tournament.
November 29, 201015 yr If this UK team is counting on Darius Miller to step up and be a star, they won't make it past the first weekend in the tournament. They are counting on Darius, and he's continuing to prove himself unreliable.
