Tough matchup in an odd environment at an odd time. This is going to be a battle I'm afraid. Good early season test.

Seriously? @ Portland?

Seriously? @ Portland?

It's not a true road game.

It also breaks up the trip to Hawaii.

Portland has beaten;

UW-Milwaukee

UC-Davis

Florida Atlantic

UK will need to be ready to defend the 3 as the Pilots went 9-14 from three and shot 71% in the first half in their last game. One of their top players is Luke Sikma, wonder if he is Jack's boy? UK will win this, but it will be a good tester to play a team that can fill it up from three. This game will be played in the Rose Garden. Terrence Jones will be jacked up for this one.

Affirmative on Jack's boy.

Portland reminds me a lot of last year's Cornell team.

If all works out I'll be at this game.

Sweet! Enjoy. Are you using this as a waypoint to Maui as well?

Affirmative on Jack's boy.

Then UK could be in trouble. That Cornell team was very good.

He'd better not be because that's just not even close to being fair. I would be very jealous with envy.

Portland actually has the nations leading 3-point shooter in Jared Stohl. He hit 47.8 % last year and is 12 of 21 through 3 games this year. 10:30 pm start for this one.

I'm not saying they're as good as Cornell, but definitely cut from the same cloth.

Portland can shoot the ball they are alot like Butler. UK will win though!

UK should win, but this isn't a pushover mid-major team. They are already tested at 3-0 and have some talented players on their roster. Add to that a cross-country trip and the possibility of looking towards Maui too soon and you have a recipe for a good test.

Portland is No. 17 on the Mid-Major Top 25 this week...Western Kentucky is No. 15 and Murray State is No. 5 to give some reference...

Affirmative on Jack's boy.

.

I wonder if he has that sweet Jack Sikma bank shot.

No, I wish.
