The stats I posted were merely to show that X and JH play alike. They both have good defenses and like to run the ball. here's what the stats do not consider...because stats do lie.

 

1. Competition...X has played 6 of the 8 top ranked team in the state according to the CJ LIT ratings. JH has played 1...Male

 

2. 2nd & 3rd strings Defense...In the T game T scored 1 TD on X's 2nd string and 1 TD on X's 3rd string...with their starters. Manual did the same thing in the last playoff game..2 Tds against the subs. ( not a knock but sometimes there are reasons...Manual..last game for good group of seniors...T...getting time for young QB) I do not know about JH in this

 

3. 1st string Offense...Did the teams call off the dogs in blowouts?

 

4. Injuries...Did one of these teams have significant injuries that changed their game plan? X struggled against Manual without 3 starters in round 1.

 

5. Match-ups ...Will one team have a better match-up regardless of the stats? Size, speed etc.

 

1. Agree X has played the harder schudule.

 

2. JH has pulled there starters early in the 3rd qt most games, not in the playoffs.

 

3. JH offensive starters played on ave. 2 1/2 qt most games.

 

4. For the most part injury free.

 

5. X has much larger line on both sides, JH linebackers and secondary is the strenght of the defense because of speed and intelligence. JH offensive backfield is loaded anyone could go on the way on any given down.

Glaser talked about this on the radio after Central Hardin left their starters in the whole game and wonder why they get no better. they never give reps and develop the youger talent. X and T think of the future with mass subs. This and going deep in the playoffs every year is a huge advantage to their success. Other teams have 2nd string but never use them other than in practice. Get them in the games and grow your program.

Manual's second and third strings got plenty of time this year, just not in the 4 regular season losses (because those games were in doubt) and not in the playoff loss (because it was a time for the seniors... although there WERE plenty of non-starter seniors that saw late time.)

X might have the size, but as far as senior leadership, JH seniors would be hard to beat. These kids live in the same neightborhoods, they hang out together, there not one of them whom thinks they are better than the kid on the bench. I do agree Senior leadership will win this game for JH, the love the fact that X is coming to there house. If memory serves me right when we played X 2 yrs ago, the officiating was one sided for X. I can't argue the leadership issue with you because I do not know enough about JH....but X develops leadership every year..it is one of the priorities in X football. Family and tradition are too. Example...Star X RB Vic Anderson has been on the sideline of almost all of X freshman games. He is there as a role model, a cheerleader, and....a leader. Vic is just a junior. X players understand that football is about the team..not the player...that is why X players do not put their names on the back of their jerseys...They have the motto...Band of Brothers..

JH got the attention of the Tigers with the win over the dogs. A focused bunch of Tigers play hard and error free. The St.X offense sets the tone early and the defense and kicking game finishes the job. Make it St.X 31 JH-14. These guys are starting to smell the repeat and will not be stopped.I am ready for a ROAD TRIP!

How many does JH have going both ways?

After watching game film, St. X will not overlook JH. JH has great speed in the backfield, and although the O line is small they are very quick. Perfect for the Wing T, which they execute extremely well. I can see JH breaking off some long plays but I think the Tigers can pull ahead in the 2nd half and win a close game.

In my opinion, St. X can honsetly not be stopped, tigers roll.

There's a problem in your post. The "T" shouldn't be there next to "X," certainly not after watching the St. X-Trinity game this year.

 

But about the game...

 

St. X certainly isn't overlooking JH. The film of the Male-John Hardin game got their attention in a hurry. Apparently they had guys easily pulling away from Beaumont on long runs, and that's indicative of some scary, scary speed.

 

The key in this one will be St. X's ability to control the clock. If they can chew up long drives on the ground and finish them with touchdowns, it'll keep the potent JH attack off the field and allow X to win in a tight one.

Douglas rushed for over 200 yards and I'm not sure of recieving yards and he played DB. He can only run so much, remember how we felt after 2 or 3 gassers. We went out 31w (we went 65 to Joe Praether Road and made a right, go about 8 miles and turn left) and when you hit all the activity (light, stores, strip malls you will see JH on your right. (field lights) Its right before Keystop gas station and there are several places to eat. Check out earlier posts about their field and etc.

Crystal ball checked in early this week. As Ed McMahon used to say, "Here's Johnny"...... and as St. X. will say, "There goes Johnny". Tigers break a sweat but cruise by I-65 High, 30 - 13.

Thread #70 had Ring Road confused with Joe Prather (Hwy 313), I believe. The easiest way to get to John Hardin High School is to go south on I-65; take Hwy 313 exit (about a mile past Lebanon Junction exit) toward Radcliff; make a left at the intersection of 31-W and 313 and travel about 3 miles south toward E-town. Turn right onto Jenkins Rd. at the traffic light and the high school will be on your right just past New Highland Elementary and Bluegrass Middle School. As far as eateries, continue south on 31-W toward E-town about 1-2 miles. You'll find Rafferty's, O'Charley's, Red Lobster, Tumbleweed, Bob Evans, Fergie's, etc., plus many fast food restaurants.
